Sypha was the best. And she was great that season. Damn shame that season had the tone it did. And the writer... ...yeah.
Lol, a comment on this video
points out that Sypha is basically an R-rated version of the Avatar. And she really is. Hell, she even dresses like she's from the Water Tribe. But that's the 3rd part in a sequence of fights. If you want to get the first
two
parts to see what an R-Rated Avatar fights like...

The sad, REAL American dichotomyAvatar: The Last Airbender's Unaired Pilot Was Surprisingly Dark
You’re not imagining things: That’s the decapitated head of the serpent being carried into the Fire Nation’s camp, tongue flapping, marked with burn marks from Zuko’s fatal attack. Sure, benders can do a hell of a lot of shit and it’s safe to assume there’s collateral damage, but it’s all handled offscreen. Not even Jet’s presumed death was shown because this is a show for kids. I’m guessing test audiences took one look at that flapping tongue and said, “no thank you,” and the show was altered to make any deaths incidental instead of right there in front of your decapitated face. Zuko, how could you?
Is that the unaired pilot where Aang is voiced by Oliver from Hannah Montana?

I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable personHello, gc10 here!
I'd need help from the Avatar fanbase here. After a discussion in the TRS
, Adorkable was turned into an Audience Reactions trope, while Endearingly Dorky was launched as trope for when a charater's dorkiness causes sympathy and is found charming In-Universe. On Avatar: The Last Airbender, Adorkable was used on quite a number of characters. I made a post here
to see how each case could be handled from now on. Thanks in advance!
I'll throw in my two cents.
- Aang honestly doesn't fit into either of those tropes. He's not socially awkward enough to qualify.
- Zuko is definitely a perfect example of just Adorkable. Nobody really fawns over him in-universe because of his goof-ups.
- Sokka does fit both since his goofy nature has a lot of fans both out-of-universe and in-universe with two girlfriends.
- Suki's like Aang, she's not socially awkward enough to qualify.
- Mai's really weird to place. She's antisocial, sure, but that's just because she's super gloomy. As such, she never does anything that's endearing.
- Earth King Kuei just looks like a dork. He never does anything goofy, I feel like. He's just very naive due to being sheltered all his life.

The legend has returned. On Mai's backstory, my honest idea is that while it definitely hurt her social skills, she doesn't sounds too upset or sorry about it. She sounds to be overall fine with remaining introvert and not showing too much of her emotions.
Lol, you didn't just say that

The sad, REAL American dichotomy

I'm reminded of this scene.
