In regards to Jump Force, at least Kaguya is the Final Boss of the series and had a major fight with Team 7. Blackbeard as the main villian rep for One Piece is more confusing because he's still barely done anything in the series outside of his fight with Ace (most of which was offscreen)

No he’s done stuff besides that.

The end of the Marineford was basically him taking advantage of everyone’s exhaustion during the war to steal Whitebeards power, show off his new crew & new power, & then went on to to become an Emperor with an entire fleet under his command.

Sure he’s gotten his ass kicked a good deal but he’s responsible for some pretty major shit & has actually had a genuine effect on the narrative in those comparatively sparse appearances.

He’s basically being built up as one of Luffy’s ultimate foes.

Kaguya being the Final Boss & having one short fight isn’t much compared to that.

They used Kaguya to explain Jump Force's premise?

That's... brilliant. She's just bland enough to not feel intrinsic to any single franchise, but identifiable enough to not seem like a Giant Space Flea from Nowhere.

She's got dimension-hopping as her chief ability. She's guided by a manifestation of her will and doesn't really talk much. And when we last saw her she was sealed away in another dimension entirely. There's so much you can Hand Wave with that. Maybe she landed in the Jojo dimension and crashed into Kars. Maybe she was unsealed because of Frieza's minions running their own operation on another planet. Maybe she wound up inside a Millennium Item.

She's got just enough power to be a threat to most of the Jump Force roster that I know of, and her Swiss Army Knife of Superpowers makes fighting her a creative exercise.

I mean, she could be a threat to Goku if you don't buy into the "Goku punches universes to dust" crap. Goku has no real defense against illusions beyond ki-sensing. His Instant Transmission is only effective up to certain distances where Kaguya has no stated limitation on her ability to teleport/trap people.

She's a threat to people like Yugi/Gon/Luffy through sheer power alone. Most importantly this is a fighting game where power levels are BS. Using Kaguya as the main villain works because her powerset is so eclectic.

Etc, etc, wow, I'm actually interested in Jump Force now.

Hate to rain on your parade, but as far as I've heard Kaguya's just there to hit things like everybody else, not justify the premise. They've got some OC villains that are presumably going to be the people responsible for the plot.

Spoilers seem to suggest that Naruto is jobbing for now lol.

Chapter is out: Remember when Naruto was like... super duper strong? Well not anymore, he's a jobber now.

This is why Sasuke got on his case for being lazy.

In the episode where the Shiki's first appeared they mentioned they have to take orders from the clan.

Yes. Ura is Recon. Kaguya is whatever, Momo and kin are a search squad.

Won’t be answered for a long while though since Kara is the current main threat. It’s a curious thing to think about either way especially since Ura most likely headed back home after he ran.

Also I read that one of the Kara’s members summons toads & can use the Rasengan. I love that guy already, a villain using the heroes publicly teachable techniques & abilities is always fucking dope.

I do like how they represented his hatred being born from misguided intentions than intentionally trying to do bad things, and that Ku ended up the vessel for said anger,

Ohnoki did indeed pass away with his last act in last weeks episode.

The three also temporarily lose their positions as ninjas to keeper the elders and he like sated, but Mitsuki, Bolt, and Salad laugh together at the end to show how it helped them grow closer.

Also the scientist who made the Fabricaions was an implied Kara agent

Its also cool to see they covered up Ohnoki as the instigatoe of the Fabrications.

So food for thought. Would you consider Naruto an underdog during the first half of the story? Even considering everything we eventually learned about his past and connections?

Well he did struggle a lot & there was no indication that he had any prodigious growth. Even with the 9-tails he tended to fucking suck at fighting.

So I guess yeah sorta depending on how you define an underdog.

According to Ikemoto he wants to finish it by 30 volumes or so and we are currently at volume 7 so 23 volumes to go I guess. Ya know I can't help but be curious even if its not for another decade as to how they'll continue the Naruto franchise after Boruto ends.

Probably not. It's established very early on that the nine tails is giving him pretty significant benefits, like his fast healing.

And his own chakra is mentioned to be particularly high, so his disadvantages stem from his own training.

Good on him. He was ropped into doing the Bolt mangain the first place so hving it set not that far away helps.

I also like the staff on the anime talk with him to not do things that would contradict the manga for the most part. So Ohnoki is dead there too.

Huh maybe if we do get another sequel it can be a bit more “out there”.

Well if he wants to finish the manga by thirty volumes it's possible that there will be less than thirty volumes, assuming he actually sticks to that.

Currently there seems to be 4 chapters per volume with the exception of volume 1 which had three. If it sticks to that the manga should be about 119 chapters and we're up to chapter 31 so that's about 88 chapters left if he really does plan on doing 30 volumes max. That gives us a little over 7 years before the manga ends.

Of course, this is all assuming the manga sticks to the current pace of one chapter a month with no breaks. If the manga ever goes on break it could take longer to end. Alternatively, if it becomes weekly at any point there's the potential for it ending sooner.

This weeks episode was cute. Boruto's Dad and Sister hanging out as he tries to get her a Kurama Doll. Featuring Shino lovingcute stuffed Kurama dolls and Kiba trying to help.

I like how Boruto looks sad becausehe chooses not to hang out with Naruto so Himawari could instead for Parent and Child Day.
