Sarutobi favouring the snakeman makes sense at least, they're both invertebrates.
...Snakes are vertebrates.

That's probably why Orochimaru eventually turned on him. He might be shifty, but at least he has a spine.
Orochimaru isn't exactly free. He's allowed to conduct his research under the supervision of Yamato and Sasuke, and probably proves himself useful to Konoha as a means to dispose of dangerous criminals.
Orochimaru is also immortal now so not crossing him is a better alternative than making an enemy of a Retired Monster. Plus his Elite Camouflage skills like working as a waitress in Konoha and doing other wacky shit before Naruto was even married to Hinata shows if he wants he could easily topple Konoha from the inside.
We do know Bolt ls eye is connected to the Byakugan. They've made specific points about it, especially when his eye is connected to Toneri and Momoshiki is interested in his fate because of seeing his future with his own Byakugan and looking into Bolts eyes in that astral plane-like place.
I guess orochimaru is on an eternal community service penalty, although I think his immortality still relies of changing bodies every 7 years or so?
IT's not clear. He may be free given he took a Zetsu body.
Of course, he just needs to kick back, wait a century or so and then skip out when everyone's forgotten
Do we have any info on Kishi's new manga, by the way? The first drafts of it were shown like six months ago… hell that might have been last year even…
(sorry, I repost this since I'm not sure people saw it last page)
nah, nothing I've seen of late. The guy can probably take quite some time before he kicks it off.
Yeah, he's probably not in a rush, and certainly not financially. I wonder if he's gonna take a more "adult" approach like in his one-shot Mario… It would be interesting to see what he can do without the constraints of a weekly shonen series.
Say what now.
And has also transcended gender. Doesn't even care what you call him.
Okay, so, Kakashi is still alive. How has he not found Boruto and explained to him that Sasuke is a shit and no one should ever aspire to be like him?
"I trained Sasuke. He was a whiny, miserable, self-righteous cunt who was obsessed with getting stronger and thought nobody else mattered but him, betrayed the village multiple times, and he's an actual murderer. He comes from a bloodline of cunts, he was born a cunt, he'll die a cunt, and only Orochimaru and your father will mourn him."
Ow the edge.
I mean all of its true save for the last part. Sakura will mourn him too. Then kill herself immediately afterwards.
Suicide jokes too? Ow, the edges in here are just too sharp.
Not to mention Naruto going full-on Communist China and using his power as Hokage to scrub all history and information of Sasuke's wrongdoing from the public record, the only thing not making him a traitor and the most hated man in the village.
Honestly, it feels like Kishimoto just wants Naru Sasu to be canon. They show a far stronger emotional connection to one another than to either of their wives or children.
Are you guys done cutting yourselves
Yeah, hiding information is such an unheard-of atrocity for a secret ninja village. I can see why Naruto Namikaze, the acknowledged heir to two great ninja clans who was raised among peers who all knew about the demon in him would never want to do that.
Have I said anything incorrect?
Oh, hey, don't get me wrong, this entire series is a House of Cards of terrible writing that retroactively makes every single character look worse and worse as the series goes on, but that doesn't make the Sasuke stuff not-stupid.

No, but all these people who go "Sasuke is such a whiny bitch for being mad that he was forced to witness everyone he ever loved be murdered! Why didn't Kishi just acknowledge that forgiveness is a lie, nobody can be redeemed, and friendship is worth nothing! Why on earth would a guy who's forgiven multiple enemies who killed way more people than Sasuke not hate him because a few unnamed redshirt samurai might have died because of him!" are just hilariously middle school. It's like saying Batman would be cooler if he got a gun and just killed all the criminals. Oh wait...
Kishimoto like alot of Manga and Comic writers
Doesn't think about undertone, He just sees narrative function, Burying Sasuke's transgression isn't about covering up his crimes, its giving Sasuke a more or less fresh start.
Example in Geoff Johns' Blackest Night Kendra Saunders Hawkgirl is revived as Sheira Hall
The moment is suppose to be a happy one, cept Kendra's body has basically been remodeled 'Kendra is Brown Eyed, Darkskined Latina, Sheira is A Green Eyed Pale Red Head' and Her soul and personality has been over wiped by Shiera which they just hand way with Kendra now being folded into Shiera's reincarnation matrix or whatever, when the WHOLE point of Kendra was she wasn't Shiera.
Forgiveness requires a little more than going "My bad" on Sasuke's part. He needs to face a little more consequences for his actions, such as multiple betrayals of the village, than not getting to see the family that he doesn't even like. I mean, as far as friendship goes, I have good friends. I consider myself lucky enough to have a friend that I can share any secret with, that I can talk to about anything, that I'd be willing to die for.
If they, more than once, tried to kill me, while screaming "I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU", I'd have to seriously take a step back and seriously consider the validity of this friendship.
But the years-long investigation/semi-exile is supposed to be his punishment, as well as not getting a replacement arm. I mean, you and I can agree that Sasuke is an awful husband and father who shows zero affection, but in canon we're supposed to accept that he loves Sakura and Sarada and would want to be with them. It's not portrayed well at all, but he got a hell of a lot more punishment than Gaara or Orochimaru did.
