- Genius Bonus: After he's been elected MP, Churchill's adoption of his father's opposition to military spending is shown to be unpopular with his Conservative colleagues but popular with the Liberal opposition. This is a reference to the fact that, in 1904, Churchill would leave the Conservative party and join the Liberals, where he stayed until he lost his seat in the 1922 general election. He didn't rejoin the Conservative party until 1924. Churchill's years as a Liberal politician are not well-known to people who only think of him as the titan of 1940.
