Yoshi's Cookie

Go To

  • Cult Classic: Yoshi's Cookie is not too well known compared to other puzzle games like Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon/Puzzle League, Puyo Puyo, Tetris, etc. But those who have played it still consider it a fun game with entertaining mechanics worth playing and with puzzles even designed by none other than Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov himself. Those that have played it would like it to make a comeback.
  • Older Than They Think: Compared to the near universal belief that Yoshi's design in Yoshi's Island debuted in said game, it actually originates from the SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie. It just wasn't noticed by most due to its obscurity in comparison.
  • Polished Port: The Japan Only Nintendo Puzzle Collection version is a polished remake of the original NES/GB/SNES versions which keeps their core gameplay with audiovisual enhancements such as 2D-3D hybrid graphics made from the ground up, voice acting, and a story mode with cutscenes instead of only cutscenes every number of rounds.
  • Retroactive Recognition: An American commercial for the game was narrated by Rodger Bumpass, in a voice nearly identical to Squidward.
