- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: His best-selling album in Japan is Fire and Ice from 1992, an album that remained unreleased in the US until 2000. The audiences in Japan kept Malmsteen's career going in the 90s when virtuosity was a swear word elsewhere during the grunge craze. Hell, he even performed his Concerto live with a Japanese philharmonic orchestra. He is big in Japan!
- Just Here for Godzilla: Some fans go crazy for his famed instrumental shred pieces and don't notice and/or care about the revolving door of vocalists, as those songs are mere fillers to them.
- Memetic Mutation: In addition to the "fucking fury" thing, his less than pleased reaction at being offered donuts by Pantera became this.
- More Popular Spin-Off: Rising Force was supposed to be a side project, but after the success of his debut album, he left Alcatrazz to focus on it.
- Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Malmsteen's band is the first band that Tim Owens didn't form himself whose fans didn't want his head on a platter in the last two decades.
- Sampled Up: The chorus of the rap song "Party Like A Rockstar" by the Shop Boyz samples a short snippet (starting around 1:30 into the track) of "Black Star"
- Signature Song: In terms of instrumentals, it's either "Far Beyond the Sun" or "Black Star". In terms of vocal songs, it's definitely "You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget".
