- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: "Moneyball" from Troubleshooting is heavier than most Xdinary Heroes songs, and this mood is kept throughout the whole song. First verse has Gaon whispering intensely... And this part ends with sudden and overly cute "NYA!"
- Bizarro Episode: Mood film for Beautiful Mind took many fans off-guard with how quirky it was, starting from unusual voiceover (the mood film itself begins with the word "naked" on screen, no less) to members doing some weird things (Jungsu and Gaon yelling at each other while standing on a couch, Jun Han playing the guitar while O.de is dying after being shot (or not exactly), Jooyeon dancing like there's no tomorrow, and Gun-il just sitting in a chair and catching an apple falling from the sky). Villains commented that "the mood was not understood but is still welcomed".
- Epileptic Trees: While there is some story behind music videos and promotional material, it's still too vague to understand it, which led to heavy theorizing. Some theories try to figure out who is in charge of everything happening in ♭form, while others speculate on morality of members' story counterparts.
- Friendly Fandoms: Villains tend to get along with other bands' (for example, DAY6 and LUCY) fans.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: There are many Russian speakers among Villains, despite the fact that Xdinary Heroes never performed in Russia (and, most likely, never will).
- Memetic Mutation:
- Gaon going viral for random things. note
- "Xdinary Heroes music is overproduced". note
- Viewer Pronunciation Confusion: There were debates about how O.de's stage name is pronounced. As there was no indication to the correct variant at first, fans thought it had to be "o-deu" or "o-di". The first one was proven to be right, although the vowel in the end is dropped in languages where it's possible, making it pronounced like the word "odd".
- Signature Song: "Happy Death Day" is still the most popular song of them, to the point that during an interview almost all of the members said that this song describes Xdinary Heroes*.
- Sweet Dreams Fuel: Troubleshooting gave fans a couple of those:
- "Dreaming Girl", obviously, a calm and gentle song with an encouraging message. It even has a line "Have a sweet dream for tonight"!
- "Walking to the Moon" has a lighthearted and lovely tune, perfect for imagining walks on the Moon.
- Tear Jerker: Their ballads (e.g. "Good enough", "until the end of time", "Night before the end") are naturally this, from themes brought up in them to heartfelt vocals.
