Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Jennifer Starkey, a new character introduced to the X-Men book, is a young adult human turned mutant artificially by the evil organization known as 3k, through the run, Jen has a great dynamic with the main cast, specially with Beast, as she starts her new life as both mutant and X-Woman. Many readers found her likeable.
  • Even Better Sequel: Jed MacKay's X-Men run is regarded as this towards Brian Michael Bendis' X-Men run, which, while not controversial or bad, its pacing became derailed. Conversely, the sequel narrative follows the seeds of foundation brought by the From The Ashes Initiative where the Revolution themes are explored more deeply without losing the touch of the characters and the new concepts the book adds in the X-Men lore.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: When Cypher became Apocalypse's successor many people reacted to his new look with disdain. The same people rejoiced when his new look in this book was revealed.
  • Revisiting the Roots: Jed MacKay's X-Men run inherits a writing style that originates from the X-Men books during the early 90s as it features many obscure villains from that decade and highly packed action.
