- Awesome Art: The game uses high resolution 2D drawings and a skeletal animation system, creating large and detailed characters reminiscent of titles from Klei Entertainment.
- Nintendo Hard: Wulverblade is on the difficult side for a beat-em-up, as the player characters are relatively slow, while plenty of enemies have powerful attacks. As such, there is a greater emphasis on blocking and parrying, as not all enemies can be defeated via button mashing. An update eventually introduced checkpoints and an easy mode.
