Wolf Alice

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: In "Silk", the singer puts the blame for her situation on her parents, while the voice in the background says that it's her own fault, which she denies. Is the singer in denial and unable to admit her own mistakes, or is she actually right and refuses to be blamed for her parents' mistakes?
  • Even Better Sequel: My Love Is Cool and Visions of A Life were already very well-received and quite popular, but Blue Weekend brought them unanimous acclaim and another round of famous songs, most notably "The Last Man on Earth".
  • Friendly Fandoms: With The 1975, as Wolf Alice have repeatedly toured with them as a supporting act, and are also signed to Dirty Hit.
  • LGBT Fanbase: Thanks to their weird, sometimes camp style, the inclusion of drag queens in the music video for "Moaning Lisa Smile", some bisexual vibes in the video for "Bloom Baby Bloom" and expressing their support for transgender people, they have got quite a large queer fandom.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Although obviously meant with a comedic purpose, the video for "Freazy" can be considered somewhat nightmare fuel due to the imagery of what is otherwise a light-hearted video. The video follows the band who after a bear ruins their picnic in the woods, eat some sort of fruit from a bush and proceed to have a good and bad trip for the rest of the video. The video features uncanny valley imagery such as Ellie's eyes and mouth superimposed onto a tree performing a duet together, many fish-eye lens distorted close ups of the band, Ellie making many goofy faces which turn a lot more menacing due to the distortion, the band performing in a dark misty location whilst looking terrified with Ellie screaming and hitting herself among other imagery. The video does have a happy shot of the band passed out coming down from their trip.
    • "Sadboy" is one with intentional nightmare fuel rather than the Freazy video. In a mixture of Twin Peaks, Stranger Things and Eyes Wide Shut with plenty of VHS styled distortions and fast-paced editing. We follow the band as they get ready to go to a costume party and have fun whilst drinking a lot. Midway through the video, the camera follows Ellie as she stumbles to the bathroom to throw up only to throw up blood and pass out. We then cut to her waking up later in a completely dark room similar to the 'Upside Down' from Stranger Things as she tries to look for an escape only to find escape is impossible whilst we see a mirrored clone of herself copying her actions with glowing eyes. The final shot of the video shows the rest of the partygoers appear in the room whilst Ellie trying to reach them only for them to fade away before she can reach them and she is stuck in a jittering limbo as the video cuts to an end.
  • The Pete Best: George and Sadie.
  • Signature Song:
    • My Love Is Cool: "Silk", "Bros" and "Lisbon".
    • Visions of a Life: "Don't Delete the Kisses", "Sadboy", "Beautifully Unconventional" and "Freazy".
    • Blue Weekend: "The Last Man on Earth", "Lipstick on the Glass" and "No Hard Feelings".
    • The Clearing: "Bloom Baby Bloom", "Just Two Girls", "The Sofa" and "Thorns".
    • Others: "Moaning Lisa Smile".
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: "Don't Delete The Kisses", which is just adorable, especially the video.
  • Tear Jerker: "Blush", "Heavenly Creatures", "Swallowtail", "Heavenward", "St. Purple And Green".
