Wishology

Go To

  • Ending Fatigue: Wishology is the longest episode of the show by far, running for over 2 hours. It can get tiring to watch in one sitting, especially with the plot repeatedly adding more MacGuffins, a twist that Timmy isn't the real Chosen One, and then a Greater-Scope Villain on top of the regular one. The end of Part 1 with Timmy rocking out on stage with KISS at a concert already does feel like an awesome ending, but it's only a third of the way through.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Those who see "Wishology" as a proper send-off to the series prefer to ignore Jorgen's claim that he's going to erase the episode's memories from everyone, so that the episode can truly be a Grand Finale.
  • Fan-Preferred Cut Content: In an early version of the script for part 3 of Wishology, Timmy would've used his Turbo Pits to create a type of light show for the party celebrating the victory over the Destructinator, and Jorgen didn't erase everyone's memories. Some fans would've preferred to see this over the Reset Button Ending that the special ultimately got.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The Lead Eliminator, aka the Destructinator, spends the entire trilogy trying to murder Timmy. Nothing new, right? Well, after The Darkness is dealt with, he tries to kill everyone in an Earth-Shattering Kaboom.
  • Older Than They Think: The existence of the Fairy Council was actually revealed as far back as Abra-Catastrophe!, and were mentioned again in Fairly OddBaby before finally making their first on-screen appearance here.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Given how the show had Timmy often working with his friends and enemies, the complete lack of Tootie came off as strange, particularly given how much Timmy tried to smooch Trixie.
  • Tough Act to Follow: This is basically considered by everyone to be Butch Hartman's last big hurrah for the show and arguably the last big special that was made for it before the controversial inclusions of Sparky and Chloe and his eventual departure from the show.
