  • Anvilicious: Racism and racial supremacy are horrible foundations for a functional society, and even the racists who ostensibly benefit from it will suffer in the long run.
  • Catharsis Factor: Seeing the Death Eaters suffer under their twisted ideology is incredibly fun to watch.
  • Complete Monster: Lord Voldemort is just as evil as his canon counterpart but even more unstable. Agreeing to a deal with Harry Potter to create a society built on Voldemort's racist ideology, Voldemort reacted very poorly to peacetime and various setbacks to Wizarding Britain, at one point taking to the streets and torturing anyone he saw wearing glasses. Passing laws requiring wizards and witches to receive the Dark Mark once they came of age, Voldemort frequently tortures his Death Eaters through their Dark Marks for his own amusement. All this merely accelerates the decreasing population and Generational Magic Decline present among his supporters and their offspring because nobody wants to move to a place run by an Evil Overlord, with Voldemort torturing a clerk to death for trying to warn him of that problem. Things in Wizarding Britain have gotten so bad that several Death Eaters are planning to kill Voldemort or send him to Harry so that he can kill Voldemort for them.
  • Genius Bonus: Lucius writing off Hermione's use of statistical analysis as "Muggle science" calls to mind the Third Reich writing off nuclear weapons development as useless because it was "Jewish science".
  • Magnificent Bastard: Harry Potter himself is the architect behind the Death Eaters' downfall. Concluding he could not face Lord Voldemort in a prolonged war, Harry cut a deal with the Death Eaters where they would be allowed to rule Wizarding Britain, free from those who did not share their beliefs, while requiring the Death Eaters to not interfere with the Muggle world as Harry personally arranged for the departure and relocation of non-Voldemort supporters. Through this deal, Harry doomed Voldemort, the Death Eaters, and their descendants to a slow death as their country collapsed piece-by-piece through their own racist beliefs, knowing that Voldemort would repulse new blood and showing the world how foolish the concept of pureblooded elitism was. It is believed that Harry is banking on Voldemort being foolish and sadistic enough to attack a Muggle, whereupon he would lose his power and be arrested or killed due to his body being made by magic.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The formation of the Cabal. In short, the Death Eaters, rather than just swallow their pride and admit their ways were wrong, resort to kidnapping a bunch of young women from random areas around the world and force them into becoming Breeding Slaves. Lucius is especially awful in how he dismisses the obvious trauma this has caused for the girls and the pain it's caused their families and tries to justify it on the grounds that the Death Eaters did the girls a favor by "rescuing" them from their impoverished backgrounds and that they aren't treated that badly.
  • Squick: The youngest of the girls to be kidnapped and forced into reproductive slavery by the Death Eaters was only 13 years old when she was taken from her home. Even more disgusting is that Lucius mentions that she and the other younger girls that were captured were essentially groomed psychologically to get used to their new lot in life.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • Lucius doesn't mention any of the prominent Death Eaters like Peter Pettigrew or Bellatrix Lestrange in his narrations. Not even Lucius’s own wife, Narcissa, gets any mention. What happened to them? Were they killed off? Was Bellatrix forced to keep producing magical heirs? What about the families of other Slytherins and their children? Where's Professor Snape hiding?
    • The idea that there were other defectors to the Light, like Leonidas Malfoy. It would be interesting to learn if there were others like him recognizing how screwed the system is and trying to fight back as best as possible, yet Leonidas is the only one mentioned or even hinted at, with it being unclear if this is because of Lucius' close proximity to Leonidas meaning that he only knows about him or if Leonidas really is the only defector.
  • The Woobie:
    • The Cabal, eight magically strong girls kidnapped and forced to have babies with the Death Eaters. They live in luxurious mansions and are given everything they want, but it's small consolation for being used as Breeding Slaves and never seeing their homes or families again.
    • A case could be made for the later generations of children born into Dark Magical Britain. They are stuck there because of an agreement made by their parents and grandparents before they were born, and were never given a choice about whether they wanted to be Death Eaters and Dark wizards. The guy ruling their country is a tyrant and a madman who enjoys torturing people through their Dark Marks, to the point that nobody bats an eyelid anymore if someone drops to the floor screaming and clutching their arm. The second they come of age, they are forced to start producing children, because their families are desperate to preserve magic in their bloodlines at all cost. And because of inbreeding to "preserve blood purity," each generation has fewer wizards, fewer witches, and weaker magic than the one before, with the current one being incapable of completing Hogwarts' sixth-year courses.
