- Funny Moments:Glinda: Here's the plan.
(Beat, while Elphaba (semi)patiently waits)
Glinda:... I have no plan.
Elphaba: Well, I do.
Glinda: Oh, thank Oz. - Improved Second Attempt:
- Many fans of the stage show complained about Glinda's wardrobe in Wicked: Part I being entirely pink, compared to the greater color variety of her stage costumes, and especially about the replacement of stage Glinda's iconic blue bubble dress with a pink one. The trailers for the sequel reveal that while Glinda still wears plenty of pink, she'll spend much of the film wearing a periwinkle blue gown.
- Other fans have pointed out that Elphaba's rebellion against the Wizard's regime and liberation of captive Animals is only mentioned in passing and never explored on stage, other than her attempting to free the Winged Monkeys. In the final trailer, Elphaba is shown fighting off guards and freeing some Buffalo who are being used as slave labour to build more of the Yellow Brick Road, and various TV spots show her interacting with Animals hiding in the forest, urging them to join her and fight the Wizard.
- Tear Jerker:
- The shot of Boq's reflection after his transformation into the Tin Man, with the heartbroken line: "What have you done to me?" Even people in the dark can find themselves feeling for the Tin Man in this moment.
- Elphaba says, "Just look at me," and Glinda smiles at her. Then Elphaba specifies, "Not with your eyes. With theirs," and Glinda's face just falls and she looks about ready to cry. Even after everything, Glinda still loves Elphie and sees her as her wonderful, amazing best friend, but they both know most of Oz sees Elphaba as a monster.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: In the teaser trailer, we get a shot of the Cowardly Lion and, as many fans have pointed out, he looks real and impressive for a CGI character.
