- Harsher in Hindsight: At the end of #100 "The Hundred Horrors", Captain Marvel says: "Billy Batson and I have been with Whiz long enough to celebrate this 100th occasion! We'll be with Whiz for at least a hundred more of the same! And we hope you will be with us, too!". Sadly, Whiz Comics was cancelled with issue #155, and Fawcett Comics folded his whole super-hero line (which included the Captain Marvel franchise). As of 2024, no Shazam! book has reached the 200th issues milestone.
- Unintentional Period Piece: During the entire run (which ended in 1953, six years before the admission of Alaska and Hawaii), Captain Marvel talks about the "48 United States".
