- Broken Base: The white gang members getting off scot-free from whitewashing Helene. Some people argue it's not fair that the bullies disappeared and possibly never got arrested or punished for their actions, while others point out that bullies and even hate crimes have historically been notorious for getting away with their actions without trouble, including the very crimes the film is based around.
- Moe: Central character Helene certainly qualifies. You can't help but feel for the girl when she isolated herself from the world after getting whitewashed.
- Signature Scene : With the low amount of discussions the film has received, Helene and Mauricio getting ambushed by the white gang bullies will always get brought up due to the entire story centering around it.
- Vindicated by History : At the time of the short's release, it received middling reviews largely due to its Limited Animation, and along with Michael Sporn's other original works faded into obscurity. However the never-ending struggle of equality for black people has made people to look back at existing black-oriented media, this film included, and sing it's praises for tackling the trauma that real incidents have on children.
