- He Really Can Act:
- Press Start has always made the protagonists he voices humorous and witty, but the ending of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 shows that he can convey actual dread, too; when Baz Kit Case watches the tape about the "Hour of Joy", he enhances the storytelling by making it feel like a first-person film, followed by realistic responses to Poppy that make the original one-sided dialogue seem like a two-sided conversation in-game. It ends with him crying out for Kissy Missy alongside Poppy when she's attacked by the Prototype off-screen; one could be forgiven for thinking his cry of concern was part of the game itself, given how naturally it fits.
- In Chapter 4, after thinking he's killed Doey, Press Start's performance has Kit crying as he walks away from the dough puddle.
- The first part of the Bioshock 2 series ends with Subject Delta reciting the iconic monologue from Taken and playing it dead seriously. Press Start's delivery is every bit as chilling as Liam Neeson's before him (yes, it helps that his voice for Delta is artificially deepened, but still).
- Nightmare Fuel:
- In Chapter 3 of Poppy Playtime, Kit tries in vain to convince Catnap to not trust the Prototype and that he's just using him, only to watch in horror as he kills the giant toy. When Kit calls out to the Prototype that he's coming for him next, the abomination replies using his voice, unsettling Kit.The Prototype: I'll be waiting.
- The ending to Chapter 3, where Kit watches the "Hour of Joy" event, is just as horrific as in the game. The fact that he drops his usual wisecrack demeanor and is completely stunned in quiet horror really emphasizes the gruesome nature of that event. This convinces him to help Poppy and Kissy take down the Prototype.Kit: Oh, dear God. They're all dead. All of them... All of them... Oh Lord...
- In Chapter 3 of Poppy Playtime, Kit tries in vain to convince Catnap to not trust the Prototype and that he's just using him, only to watch in horror as he kills the giant toy.
