Dragon Ball Z: Dynasty

  • Arc Fatigue: Some readers felt that the Bardock in Space arc (after the Cell Games and Bojack Unbound) was a bit too long. It starts off with a mini flashback arc that shows how Bardock and his brother Turles made a living as Saiyans before Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta, which some felt was a bit too long in itself, and then follows up on Bardock and Turles meeting proper and going on their adventures. It didn't help that Feraligreater had a bit of a Schedule Slip with the fanfiction itself due to personal reasons, though most people don't blame this specifically for the arc's seemingly longer then usual feel.
  • Awesome Music:
    • Chapter 94 has Goku and Bulma singing the introduction to Makafushigi Adventure!, and the rest of the opening lyrics present as he, Raditz, and Vegeta search for the restored Dragon Balls, with a montage of the three Saiyans retrieving six of the seven balls. It draws back to the original opening, even having a Homage to Goku's Great Ape rampage with the trio storming the Red Pants Army base and rescuing a young boy's father while in their Oozaru forms.
    • Chapter 158 officially starts the World Martial Arts tournament with Vale singing Mezase Tenkaichi, complete with personalized lyrics that welcome back the old fighters like Goku, Krillin, Tien, and Piccolo. It's both a great tribute to the old tournaments and a welcoming number to fighters young and old.
  • Complete Monster: Cell takes his canonical crimes and adds to them here. After Piccolo fights him and he escapes, Cell decides to manipulate a little girl into leading him to the town's inhabitants, and he absorbs them before her eyes, traumatizing her. Later, Cell holds the infant Trunks hostage in an attempt to get what he wants. This works, and Cell reaches his Perfect form. At the Cell Games, Cell declares his intentions to destroy the planet and beyond, brutally killing many around him and ruining multiple lives for his sick amusement, making sure Gohan is Forced to Watch him kill Bardock.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Cell breaking into a TV station, killing several people, while a surviving victim of his rampages was being interviewed? Horrifying. Cell signing said victim's leg cast, writing "best buds for life"? Hilarious.
