- Catharsis Factor:
- Priya getting eliminated over Emma in this fic made many readers happy since it meant there would be no relationship between her and Caleb, which would then take up a majority of the season with their problems like in canon.
- Those who were annoyed with Julia’s constant Offscreen Villainy in this season will be happy when she gets eliminated at the start of the merge thanks to Emma using her immunity idol on Bowie.
- Anyone that didn’t see either Caleb or Wayne as finalist material would find their double elimination in "Haulin' n' Ballin" to be fitting.
- Funny Moments: Caleb’s rare sentence in "Canoe Believe It?"Caleb: Am I the only one watching the water skiing horse jousting? Welp, that’s officially the weirdest thing I’ve ever said.
- Harsher in Hindsight: The Bowie-Emma-Zee alliance failing to find the immunity idol and deciding that they don’t need it for Episode 9’s elimination becomes this when MK chooses to flip on them and eliminate Bowie instead.
- Heartwarming Moments:
- Emma and Zee’s interactions with each other in general, especially when they start developing feelings for each other.
- Even though Emma was the reason their team lost in "Choosin for a Bruisin", Nichelle does admit to feeling sympathy for her when discussing with Axel and Zee on whether Emma or Priya should go home.
- When Team Rat Face celebrate their third win in "Ice to Meet You", Caleb celebrates this in Priya’s name, before Damien adds "and Millie", which serves as a further reminder on how he’s forgiven her.
- Tear Jerker: Emma’s thoughts when thinking about the idea of her and Zee dating.Does Zee like her? Does she like Zee? If the answer to both questions somehow became yes instead of the vague maybe they currently are... could Emma and Zee even work as a couple? Zee’s not Chase, but he’s certainly not perfect either. He’s spacey, he’s not very smart. Sometimes he’s chill when he really, really shouldn’t be. And he’s way too forgiving of people.
That’s what scares Emma the most.
No, Zee’s not Chase. If he ended up hurting Emma’s feelings, she’s certain that if she explained that to him, he would earnestly apologize. He’s not competitive enough to butt heads with her. And he’s honest to a fault. Emma would never have to worry about him messing with her car and not saying anything about it.
Zee’s not Chase.
But what if Emma is?
She’ll do lots of crazy stuff for her channel. What if she gets Zee involved, and pressures him into doing something scary without realizing it? What if her anger gets the best of her, and she takes that out on him? She’s already acted irrationally once, and sabotaged both Bowie and her friendship with him. Then she didn’t apologise for months.
What if she hurts Zee the same way Chase hurt her?
