Bad Bunny

Go To

The Puerto Rican musician

  • And You Thought It Would Fail: On route to WrestleMania 37, no one believed that Bad Bunny's tag team match against The Miz and John Morrison was going to sell well. Most celebrities (Snooki, for example) just phone in a few pin-falls, perhaps a cross body, but nothing too spectacular. But Bad Bunny more than delivers, showing off a handling of wrestling psychology, selling and busting out a Canadian Destroyer that made fans state that he had a better showing than Ronda Rousey when she had her debut match three years prior. The beginning of the match had fans skeptical, but by the end they were cheering for every move he made.
  • Archive Panic: In less than a decade he's got six studio albums (two of which are eighty minutes long), one collaborative album, one compilation, countless singles and featured spots, and dozens of SoundCloud tracks, many of which are lost. Good luck.
  • Awesome Moments: His Street Fight match against former friend Damian Priest at Backlash 2023, in front of both men's home crowd of Puerto Rico with their supporting factions the LWO and The Judgment Day backing them up. Unquestionably considered the highlight of the show (not only because of the molten hot crowd and exciting returns from Puerto Rican legends Carlito Colón and Savio Vega, but also because of the amazing work both men put in), it was considered a minor booking travesty that the match didn't go on last as the main event.
  • Eclipsed by the Remix: Everyone knows the Hear This Music version of "Diles" with featured artists that served as Bad Bunny's Breakthrough Hit far more than the original solo version from his SoundCloud that led to his contract to Hear This Music in the first place.
  • Growing the Beard: The álbum "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS". It includes fewer elements of reggaeton and trap, features collaborations with plena (a traditional genre of Puerto Rican music) musicians, and it discusses darker themes, like Villainous Gentrification in "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii.
  • He Really Can Act: His appearances in WWE, in a medium not usually enthusiastic about celebrity non-wrestlers being given the spotlight, have been nearly-universally praised for the amount of effort and respect he puts in to all of his appearances, being capable of performing great-looking Canadian Destroyers with ease. For example, despite questionable bookingnote  his Royal Rumble 2022 performance was widely touted as legitimately one of most entertaining parts of an otherwise lacklustre show.
    • More generally, his actual turns at acting, in particular his turns on Saturday Night Live, have been highly praised.
  • LGBT+ Periphery Demographic: For an artist in a genre not well known for LGBT+ support, he has a huge Latin American queer fanbase due to his songs touching on the toxic masculinity of Latin American culture, which relates well towards queer Latines. He also has a notable lesbian fanbase, which is uncommon for a male artist to have.
  • Shocking Moments: His tag-team match with Damian Priest at WrestleMania 37 against The Miz and John Morrison where he unleashed a Canadian Destroyer with perfect execution on Morrison. This is quite notable because Canadian Destroyers are dangerous to pull off if not careful.
  • Signature Song: Very hard pick.
    • Hear This Music era: "Diles", "Tu No Vive Así", "Soy Peor", or "Amorfoda"
    • X 100pre: "Mia"
    • Oasis: "La Canción"
    • YHLQMDLG: "Vete", "Safaera", or "Yo Perreo Sola"
    • Las Que No Iban A Salir: "Cómo Se Siente (Remix)"
    • El Último Tour Del Mundo: "Dákiti"
    • Un Verano Sin Ti: "Tití Me Preguntó", "Me Porto Bonito", or "Ojitos Lindos"
    • Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana: "Monaco" or "Perro Negro"

The webcomic

  • Canon Fodder:
    • Who is Alan's father? Did he die when he was very young or did he never have one?
    • Who is Bunny's biological parents?
    • Is Jade adopted? It's unlikely that Officer Dougbut is her real father because they don't share any similar characteristics except for hair colour. In Bunny's novel "Across the Wacky-verse", it depicts Jade as a Dimensional Traveler. Interesting...
    • How did Jeremy get his immortality powers? The final comic implies that Jeremy can change his form whenever he comes back to life and after killing someone else, Jeremy is fully aware of their immortality being taken away from them, but it never answers how they got it in the first place.
    • Who is Bunee? Why did they abandon their restaurant? Why do they have an escape pod? Why is there shown to be little patches of blood in and out of the restaurant? Is Bunny related to them? One notable aspect about Bunee is that they seem to be an unpleasant individual as shown in 'Super hell-e-scape!" in which there's a skeleton lying in the escape pod area with blood marks on the wall that reads 'stop bunee'.
    • How would have Jade reacted if she read the "Across the Wacky-verse" novel?
    • Who is the creator of Red Bill?
    • What did Insane Guy do to be thrown in the insane asylum? Why were they naked under that straightjacket? How did he end up going on a date with Alan's mother?
