Avatar: The Last Airbender "The Fortune Teller"

  • Broken Aesop: The moral of the episode could be described as "Don't blindly put all your trust into one person." The villagers were so deluded into thinking they were safe just because Aunt Wu said they would be that everyone would have been killed were it not for the intervention of the Gaang, and the only way to convince them otherwise was by reshaping the clouds so Aunt Wu would acknowledge that the volcano was indeed going to destroy the village. However, as the villagers happily point out, Aunt Wu was correct in the end in that the village wouldn't be destroyed, meaning trusting her fortunes was the right course after all (as far as they're concerned). The aesop could then be summarized as "use your best judgments."
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: Aunt Wu predicts Katara will die peacefully in her sleep after her third great-grandkid is born. By the end of The Legend of Korra Katara is still alive and kicking with three grandkids about to become teenagers, so Wu's prediction is still on track.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Cameron Monaghan is the twins.
