- Awesome Music: The game has a bunch of rock/techno songs composed by Tetsuya Shibata which is one of the good aspects from this game. The intro UpperÂ
from the original version will surely make you pumped up to start the race. So does the intro from the American versionÂ
which is epic on its own. - It's Easy, So It Sucks!: One of the complaints towards this game is how easy the rival is in the game's career mode equivalent. The worst offender, however, is the lack of in-game currency, meaning you can start off with a Disc-One Nuke right from the start!
- Older Than They Think: Auto Modellista isn't the first racing game that Capcom made. That honor goes to F-1 Dream, an arcade racer released in the late-80s.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: Despite the appealing visual presentation, most of the talking about Auto Modellista will point out the subpar driving physics in the American version and the lackluster gameplay.Â
- Spiritual Successor: GT Cube (also known as GT Pro Series for its Nintendo Wii release) , a racing game released for Nintendo GameCube, is this thanks to the roster of Japanese cars and cel-shaded graphics. If you consider the multiplayer aspects, racing MMO Drift City also counts.Â
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Despite received more content, the American version features tweaked driving physics which turns out to be inferior compared to that of the original version (which was released only in Japan and European countries).
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Put aside the questionable gameplay, the graphics of Auto Modellista still holds up well as of today thanks to the use of cel-shaded graphics and catchy visual effects such as Speed Stripes, capturing the essence of the racing action so well.
