Asterix and the Actress

Go To

  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: There's a very odd segment that happens in middle of the album. After drinking Panoramix potion to restore his voice after Obelix hit him, Asterix starts jumping twenty feet in the air, yelling in excitement, swimming out to sea, meeting the pirates who mistake him for ghost, and getting rescued by a dolphin at the very end. The context doesn't help much.
  • Never Live It Down: The previously-mentioned scene is one of the most infamous moments of the later Asterix albums. It even gets a subtle Take That! from Uderzo himself in The Golden Anniversary Book.
  • Woolseyism: In the Polish translation, when Asterix and Obelix's fathers warn Bogus Genius of their sons' retribution, a legionary whispers that "this is some kind of mania of theirs, they talk about their sons as if they were talking about the coming of the Messiah". And given how Asterix and Obelix adventures take place four or five decades before the year of Jesus' birth...
    • The same translation has Obelix responding to his father idea of making his menhir a new sign for his and Asterix's father shop by telling his father that he should be careful that the menhir does not get wings, which may be a reference to the ad "Redbull will give you wings".
