- Alternative Character Interpretation: The man who sits down next to Ezio just before the latter passes away is subject to quite a few interpretations. Two of these theories, however, stand out.
- Some believe he is just a random person who just happened to be a bit of a Jerkass, represents Ezio's younger self, and his connection to Ezio runs no deeper than that.
- The other theory is that the man is a Templar, who was sent for the express purpose of killing Ezio after his exploits alongside Shao in the earlier portion of the film. However, upon seeing that Ezio is dying right before his eyes, it seems the man gives a nod of respect and leaves Ezio to die in peace. note
- Porting Disaster: You wouldn't think a short film could fall under this but the Ezio Trilogy version of the short (at least on Switch) has absolutely no controls, any input skips the entire short, meaning you have to watch the entire thing in one sitting with no pausing or fast fowarding or rewinding with the same issues effecting Assassin's Creed: Lineage in the collection, making it much more practical to simply watch these on a video site.
- Surprisingly Improved Sequel: Embers was much better received than the previous tie-in films.
