Ash-Veil Lane

  • Diagnosed by the Audience: Coming off of the theory that Kris is autistic in base Deltarune, it is likewise sometimes speculated that this series intentionally gives a darker bend on the theory, focusing more on the persecution neurodivergent individuals face for their differences and how badly they can spiral into deeper levels of trauma if forced to cope with their suffering through unorthodox and maladaptive means.
  • Epileptic Trees: After Asriel's full speech was first revealed in "15_doorway," it was briefly speculated that the story was an allegory for someone else if not an experience from "Ash's" life, given the uncharacteristic venom displayed by him. However, Utgarde-Loki's presence confirms a few episodes later that the story is entirely self-contained.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Although it was already speculated by the fandom (and very heavily hinted at in Chapters 1 and 2) that the Darkners are the alternate forms of objects in the Light World, long before Chapter 3 outright confirmed it, this series correctly predicted that Darkners can also form based on the desires of Lightners, as all of Kris's friends in the reality created by Utgarde-Loki happen to be an assortment of inanimate objects that Kris formed an attachment with due to their isolation, a situation similar to Ramb in Chapter 3, whose Light World form is a power strip that Kris played with.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Ralsei's room being empty except for a wide, gaping hole becomes distressingly similar to the canon Chapter 4's reveal of what Ralsei's room is actually, as the sole meaningful difference is that there's only a window instead of a giant hole. And just as how the hole in the webseries shows a darker side to Kris' life in the series, Ralsei's actual room reveals a darker side to Ralsei himself, that being just how nonexistent his sense of self is.
    • Similarly, Susie giving Kris the final push to confront Utgarde-Loki and convince them to collapse the Light World due to the hints of its true nature bleeding into her mind from the Roaring is rather predictive of her resolve to defy the Prophecy as a whole in Chapter 4 proper.
    • The music playing in "16_roaring town?" having the Waltz of Seccom Masada/Man Behind the Tree motif. The video came out before the release of Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4, which linked the Man to Kris' trauma in canon.
    • The Deal with the Devil Kris made with Utgard-Loki is this considering their canon association with the Roaring Knight revealed in Chapters 3 and 4.
  • Memetic Mutation: The use of the preexisting "but how will this affect the trout population?" meme has become an inside joke among viewers of the series. Similarly, fans like to point out that when the Roaring finally happens, Sans's house completely disappears, suggesting that unlike everyone else - who either went insane or succumbed to body horror - Sans and Papyrus simply decided to get the hell out of Home Town.
  • Signature Scene: "16_roaring town?" is by far the most iconic episode in the series, showcasing a possible alternative interpretation of The Roaring in a very disconcerting display of Reality Is Out to Lunch that sticks out in such massive contrast to the canon Deltarune's prophesized showcase of what The Roaring itself would look like.
