- And You Thought It Would Fail: A lot of people expressed skepticism regarding ARC Raiders' chances when it was originally revealed that it had shifted from a co-op shooter into an extraction shooter during development, citing the fact that the gaming market was already becoming overly saturated with them just as it had with the Battle Royale trend of the late 2010s, and that most were just cheap knock-offs of games like Escape from Tarkov, which codified the genre. These concerns were ultimately put to bed when the positive reactions to the Tech Tests and Server Slam proved that ARC Raiders had the potential to succeed as well as be its own thing, as the game was showered with praise regarding its gameplay and atmosphere as well as providing several innovations to the genre that were well received by the gaming community. Upon release, it ended up selling an estimated 1.6 million copies inside of its first week alone, finally ending any remaining doubts about the game's future.
- Demonic Spiders: Rocketeers. Massive flying ARC drones with a ton of armor and health, devastating missile launchers and a penchant for hanging out near the evacuation points.
- Goddamned Bats: Snitches and Spotters. They're not actively dangerous, but they can both be very annoying, with the former calling in reinforcements (not helped by how it flies erratically once it detects you making it mildly difficult to take down) and the latter acting as literal spotters for the much more dangerous Bombardiers, flying after you and keeping track of you no matter where you run so the Bombardier knows exactly where to fire. They can easily be taken out to end their irritating pursuit, but this is easier said than done when you've got an angry murder-bot relentlessly dropping mortars on your head.
- Pandering to the Base: The game was initially designed as a co-op experience like Helldivers, but the early testing groups deemed it "boring" and demanded a PVP element.
- Spiritual Successor: To The Cycle Frontier, a similar scavenging/extraction shooter set in an After the End world that was shut down in late 2023.
