YMMV / Alien Hominid

Go To

  • Crosses the Line Twice: The minigame "Super Soviet Missile Mastar" involves controlling a Russian missile to blow up the U.S. The Atari 2600-style graphics and the fact that the game displays "PWNED" every time you succeed are the icing on the cake.
  • Funny Moments: The boss of 1-3 is a giant radioactive monster... made of butterscotch pudding. And the only way to damage it properly are to shoot the fire hydrant underneath it to dilute its body mass, which then stuns it so you can run up and chomp on its head as fast as possible, which the set dressing conveniently tells you with a sign hung above its head simply telling you to "EAT YOUR INSTANT PUDDING"
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Metal Slug was a significant influence on this game. Two years after the release of the console version, the mission 4 boss of Metal Slug 6 would bear more than a passing resemblance to the Sand Worm boss in level 3-1 of Alien Hominid.
  • That One Boss - People may have different answers for this, but the mid-level boss of level 3-2 is a pain, to clarify, the boss for the stage is the electric sockets of doom. If you don't attack the core that glows pink (out of the multiple cores), they'll fire out a nigh-unavoidable attack from all their cores. The only way to avoid this is to stand on the very edge of one of them and crouch (so that you can hit the cores), in which case the soldiers coming from above will land on the sockets, crouch, and shoot you.
  • That One Level - Level 1-2 can be especially annoying on co-op mode if you and your partner aren't careful with how many cars you decide to hijack, and 2-5 has a very difficult vertically scrolling area with flamethrowers, barrels rolling down staircases and a satellite shooting lasers at you from orbit.
