Toilets are in the middle of the room with no stalls or curtains, and the large beds intended for sex are also in the middle of the room with nothing blocking anyone's view. Pierce explains the current society, suffering from massive overpopulation, considers Corbell's notions of "privacy" quaint and old-fashioned.
