- Broken Base: The reveal that Stan Edgar is General Zod has proven a tad controversial as some readers feel the plot twist opens up too many cans of worms and undercuts what made both characters interesting: Stan Edgar was a completely normal human who was able to intimidate and cow a Smug Super like Homelander into line by expertly playing on his psychological weaknesses, and his main goal was to make Supes like The Seven completely obsolete through his Temp V programs. He was pure Muggle Power, even eclipsing The Boys in that arena; Zod was a Colonel Kurtz-esque imperialistic colonizer, with Smug Super tendencies exceeding that of Homelander's. It's been noted many times that Zod simply couldn’t understand why Superman bothered with a double life and not conquer Earth on his own (which is a Fatal Flaw as his short-sighted obsession with making himself the King of New Krypton would be his undoing on multiple occasions). For some readers, Edgar and Zod are too incompatible to become a Composite Character.
- Base-Breaking Character: Lois' appearance and romantic relationship with Clark is seen as either a good way to connect to Superman lore or a pointless addition that doesn't really add anything to the story.
- Catharsis Factor: After all the shit they pull in canon, watching Superman casually outpace the other Supes is fun to watch. Special mention goes to him for beating A-Train's speed record.
- Fan-Preferred Couple: Most readers were initially hoping Clark would get together with Annie since they are both superpowered beings who have some chemistry. Some considered Clark's romance with Lois disappointing and shoehorned, but those comments have died down somewhat as she was revealed to be part of The Boys, becoming more integrated into the story.
- Moral Event Horizon: While Homelander is already over the line, he loses all of the audience's sympathy when he threatens Jonathan Kent, causing him to suffer a fatal heart attack. Worse, even if Jonathan didn't have a heart attack and even if Homelander was at his mental best, the latter would still be homicidally impulsive enough to just kill the farmer (given that Homelander is angrily confronting Jonathan out of jealous, paranoid narcissism regarding Clark in the first place) and and can easily cover it up as a wild animal attack as the Kent farm is located in the countryside.
- Nightmare Fuel: Stan Edgar goes unusually calm and distracted when he receives confirmation that Kara and "Clark" are related. As if he now knows what he needs to do, and totally disregards the old games he would've played with Butcher.
- Unexpected Character:
- Auntie Sis and the Superdupers originate from the comics, but were excluded from the TV show (from which this fic takes a majority of inspiration), so their presence came as a bit of a shock. Sis being revealed to be the Wonder Woman of this universe was even greater of one, understandably.
- Superman and Lois’s child Mia Kent turns out to be an adaptation of the relatively obscure Cir-El/Supergirl from the 2000’s. Especially since her backstory as Superman and Lois’ Kid from the Future was revealed to be fake and she was actually a plant by Brainiac while she thought she was their real daughter.
