A Song of Ice and Fire Cut Short by Dust

  • Fourth Wall Myopia: Numerous readers lashed out at Team RWBY for their hesitance to support Stannis, Ned, and Renly's coup against the Lannisters despite being presented with evidence to the royal children being incest born bastards with no claim to the throne. Said readers frequently refuse to acknowledge a number of factors that can only be claimed because they know everything about the characters and story already. In short, they're expecting Team RWBY to act on information they have no way of reasonably knowing by that point.
    • While Team RWBY suspects as much, them seeing Jaime and Cersei together and the children's hair/eye color (nor being informed of the usual Baratheon hair/eye color) isn't enough, nor solid, evidence to them being bastards, and they want to make absolutely sure on these things before they support any actions that would have massive long term consequences.
    • These same readers also point out that Joffrey is a sadistic monster who'll go on to do many horrible things once in power, but as the story shows, while Team RWBY suspects his darker nature, they only see him as a spoiled, but harmless brat because that's all they've seen of him. Concerning, yes, but nothing that warrants being removed from the line of succession without evidence to back it up. That's without factoring how he, Tommen, and Myrcella are all still children and supporting his removal risks putting him and his far more innocent younger siblings to the sword just for existing.
  • Squick:
    • Team RWBY ends up having to eat the giant spiders they killed for their first few days before they find civilization.
    • Ruby's reaction when she learns that Cersei and Jaime are in an incestuous relationship.
