YMMV / A Devil's Diamond

Go To

  • Funny Moments:
    • Any time Josuke plays the Straight Man to Issei's perverted antics. From either insulting him or using Crazy Diamond to choke him.
    • And on a similar note, any time Bruno has to be the only sane one between Xenovia and Irina.
    • The entire scene where Issei's mom gives the ORC the photo albums of his childhood with Josuke. Both of them practically die of embarrassment.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Josuke and Issei's friendship. Despite their differences, it's clear how tight the two are. The flashbacks showing how their friendship started makes it even better.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Issei replaces a majority of Koichi's role here. Issei's Japanese Seiyuu Yūki Kaji would later go on to voice Koichi in the animated adaption of Diamond is Unbreakable.
    • Riser shares his voice with Dio. In fact, the first seasons of both series were produced in 2012.
    • A minor plot point was that Jotaro and the Speedwagon Foundation had been keeping tabs on Dio's assassins that survived the events of Stardust Crusaders, many of them, while not having an outright Heel–Face Turn, opting to just live their lives rather than stay in the assassin business. 2021 would see the release of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, a spinoff of dubious canonicity that focuses on Hol Horse, and mentions that, indeed, numerous former assassins of Dio's decided to pull a Heel–Face Turn and live normal lives, namely Mariah, Boingo, and Kenny G. Even better, Mariah mentions that the Speedwagon Foundation had actually reached out to them and was willing to assist them if they wanted!
  • Older Than They Think: Interestingly enough, this fan fiction predated the Diamond is Unbreakable anime.
