  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Bonnie and Stu bonding in "Hopp on Board" as they rush to get their youngest daughter off the train to Zootopia, such as Stu accidentally causing their wedding music to play and the couple admiring how beautiful their eyes look. The short ends with the couple giving each other a kiss, before their daughter suddenly goes missing again. There's also Gideon Grey's cameo appearance in said short where he almost drives into Bonnie and Stu's car, showing that he's already developed a decent relationship with Judy's parents before their daughter later reunites with him in the film.
    • Also Molly getting on the train to follow her sister Judy and when she accidentally falls over a ram, he and the other passengers instead of being upset, only laugh and smile kindly at the innocent bunny child.
    • Fru-Fru and Tru-Tru reconciling at the end of "The Real Rodents of Little Rodentia".
    • Young Mr. Big using his delivery money to buy an ice cream cone for a young Koslov, starting them on the path of childhood friendship and showing the bears’ modern day loyalty to his employer is out of camaraderie than duty.
    • Everyone’s reaction to Flash proposing to Priscilla. Despite the guests and chef being upset that Sam wasn’t keeping up with the customers, they all express joy over Flash and Priscilla’s engagement. Even Sam is moved by the moment despite being frustrated that she was slowed down by waiting on them.
  • Ho Yay: Come on, it's impossible to not see "So You Think You Can Prance" as a huge gift to the Bogo/Clawhauser shippers!
  • Magnificent Bastard (includes the original movie): Mr. Big is a feared and respected crime boss with a strong code of honor, who operates in Tundratown and Little Rodentia. In the past, he rallied his fellow community members to bring down a notorious Rhino crime boss, and later took over his operations to build Little Rodentia as a safe place for small mammals like himself. In the present day, he threatens to ice Nick and Judy when their investigation brings them to his territory, but upon learning that Judy saved his daughters life earlier in the film, shows his gratitude by co-operating with them, answering their questions, and assigning Judy to be his unborn grandchild's godmother.
  • Moe:
    • "Hopp on Board" features Judy's adorable baby sister, Molly, that her parents are chasing after. Seeing her innocently interacting with the unaware adult citizens of Zootopia is very precious to witness.
    • "Dinner Rush" introduces Sam the otter, a female waitress who rushes to finish her shift before Gazelle's concert starts. Similar to Mrs. Otterton, fans quickly fell in love with the character due to her energetic and adorably awkward behavior.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • Many fans hoped Gideon would've gotten a bigger role in a follow up (though preferably in a sequel), but he managed to somehow get even less screen time then beforehand, with only one blink and you'll miss it cameo. Even cinematographer Joaquin Baldwin apologized for not using Gideon more.
    • Finnick, who also got only one blink and you'll miss it cameo, is another example, but it was tempered not by the fact that his voice actor died just as Zootopia+ was announced, which many thought was the case, but by the fact that the writers admitted they wanted to use him more but struggled to come up with ideas for him.
      • Co-director Trent Correy remarked, "We kept trying to find a space for Finnick and it just never… we had him in a couple of scenes here and there and it never panned out."
