• Adaptation Displacement: Wait, this show is based on a blog?
• Adaptation Distillation: The blog and memoirs the show is based on are much racier and not nearly as upbeat as the show, often focusing on romantic mistakes made in adultery or infidelity.
• Romantic Plot Tumor: Gabi and Josh's relationship became this later in the series, mostly due to them having an inability to take responsibility for their faults and the constant break ups and reconciliations getting on viewer's nerves.
• The Scrappy: Josh is near universally reviled due to his Control Freak tendencies and refusal to maintain any sort of professionalism in his relationship with Gabi. It reaches a point where most wanted Gabi to end up with Cooper instead of him.
