YMMV / You Rang, M'Lord?

• Germans Love David Hasselhoff - The series is hugely popular in Hungary.
• Hate Sink: Many characters are made to be hated, like Mrs. Lipton, James or Poppy.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Mrs Lipton durring the end of season 2 and the beginning of season 3. The sympathetic way Alf and James treat her after Poppy critisizes her cooking, implies that the audience is supposed to be on their side. However, considering the stuck-up, elitist, borderline abusive way Mrs Lipton treats Mabel and Henry, she's less The Woobie of that story arc and more a bulling crybaby who can't handle a taste of her own medicine.
  • Also James, when he stands up for Mrs Lipton against Poppy's criticism. Considering that he treats Henry like dirt and Mabel less than dirt, he isn't a "valiant hero", taking a stand against a "tyrant", but a huge hypocrite who can't practice what he preaches about people "knowing their station in life". Especially since he always tells Ivy off for voicing her opinions to the family.
• The Woobie:
  • Henry, especially when courting to Ivy.
  • And of course Ivy, when James rejects her again and again.
