YMMV / X-Force (2018)

Go To

The fifth X-Force series provides examples of:

  • Continuity Lock-Out: The series really expects readers to know and care about Cable's history, such as the heavy focus on his upbringing and friends from the future.
  • Epileptic Trees: It was the final page in this series that has led people to believe Teen Stryfe has taken Teen Cable’s place. As he steps through a portal he sports an ambiguously sinister smile that only readers can see. This theory has carried over into Cable and has only gotten more fuel.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Kid Cable, for both killing the original Cable and lacking the grizzled war veteran aspect that is key to the Cable character. Not that many of the actual cast like him either, for much the same reason — and at least one is out to kill him.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The art by Dylan Burnett received big backlash when it was revealed and that has stuck with the series. While Burnett's art was well-received on Cosmic Ghost Rider, that series is very tongue-in-cheek and has a humorous tone for the most part, and the art suits the ludicrousness of its title character. Not so much on a darker X-Force comic that is taking itself seriously whenever Boom-Boom isn't involved.
