  • Acceptable Targets: Just about any bad user or bad arc is this.
    • Sockpuppets, full stop.
    • Nazis, for obvious reasons.
    • Fred Durst.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Some characters may differ from canon, but will be respectful to their canon selves as well. Usually, this is the WZRP version of the canon characters.
    • The infamous one is GDF's interpretation of Reimu Hakurei. Even Strongest Potato agrees she was a mistake, this Reimu would eventually be confirmed to be a clone made by Yukari just to dick around.
    • Garbage Monster and Gamoni are vastly different from their source material, having much more depth to them in terms of character and also having very distinct personalities, as well as being more in the Grey Zone in the grand scheme of things. Of course it helps that their canon counterparts were rather flat and didn't have much going for them.
  • Anti-Climax Boss:
      Advertisement:
    • The Anomaly, despite being the main force controlling Trahir and supposedly being very powerful, only fired six blasts during battle in total before then then be quickly taken out.
    • In the now non-canon Shin Goji arc, EVA-01 was constantly hyped up as being the only thing that could take down Shin Goji and got more screentime than both Godzilla and ShinGoji combined. When it finally does show up to battle; it's taken down ridiculously quickly.
    • Played for laughs in regards to Harvest. He hypes himself up as a immediate threat, but is then swiftly taken down by HyenaMask.
    • Also played for laughs with Vernonn all the time.
  • Arc Fatigue: Garuda Goji's "arcs", truth be told, suffers from this since 2015. Either from his lack of interest to continue the arcs, or just an all-out hiatus which then ends up canned. Some plots of his survived, but are usually short and light-hearted, unlike his darker and longer plots.
    • Then there's the Battle of Lansing RP, which was supposed to be short, but then it dragged on to almost an entire month. It practically became it's own arc. What's especially baffling is that they kept fighting for the city, even when it was long destroyed.
    • Advertisement:
    • Infamously, the Neo Empire arc was this along with the villains curb-stomping the heroes into next Tuesday.
    • The Orochi's Incarnations RP went on for sometime, although the RP is still considered great (after all it DID properly introduce Flamingo Mask.) That and it's creator went busy for sometime.
  • Ass Pull: This can happen time to time.
    • SquidMask was practically the master of this trope, often gaining new powers on the spot and never using them again afterwards. Averted however in the case of his hamon powers, which is actually explained and works for the character.
    • Smogton's Crazy Rainbow Eye Darts can be stopped by...pouring coffee (or any other kind of hot liquids) onto the victim. This was done because Gallibon the Destroyer admitted that he had no idea how to fix it in time.
    • Similarly, Sou Vuaga's reason of not being explored before due to apple pies surrounding the island.
    • Advertisement:
    • Perhaps the most infamous example would have to be Trahir having been "possessed" the whole time by an entity known as "The Anomaly" during the last few stages of the Neo Empire RP. It's not even foreshadowed or hinted at before and comes out of nowhere.
    • The Elder Moon God. Although he did kill Tokyo Goji, he never appeared before or afterwards in RP ever again, and seemingly only existed just to kill her off. Fish 6 praised the Elder Moon God for doing so, however.
  • Badass Decay: Final Gigan. After getting a major upgrade that put his power on-par with that of Neo Gigan, he quickly became cannon fodder as time went on. Now he's a bounty hunter who acts as his employer's lackey.
    • This unfortunately happened to a lot of heroes during the Neo Empire, but it was later thankfully undone.
    • FoxMask also got this for a little bit, but like many other heroes that go the shaft during the Neo Empire, it was undone.
    • Zig-zagged with Garbage Monster, who seems to get and lose his badassery once and a while. In his first appearance, he was able to go toe to toe with some Ultras and Heisei Gamera. Afterwards, he repeatedly became a punching bag for others, even getting smacked around by human-sized Kamen Riders and constantly failing missions. Then after getting banished from the Viledrodes (and then from Earth temorarily) he was able to lead a rag-tag team of monsters off of Heck successfully and was able to help defeat and destroy Denomon and upon returning to Earth, he defeated Flamingo Mask and went on a nearly unstoppable rampage, to which he was only stopped by the arrival of Machine G. Then after getting more garbage monsters on his side, he comes up with more outrageous and comical plots to takeover the world (with garbage!!!), much of which he loses. This is often lampshaded by Garbage Monster himself.
  • Bile Fascination: Some people are really curious to find out just how bad some of the more badly-received plots and characters really were. Some of the more obscure Scrappies (for an example Cyberdeath and Wander) can fall into this for an example. It gets to the point where some are annoyed when others try to delete all evidence or logs to find them either. The Neo Empire is probably the biggest known example, as others want to find anything they can about it just to see how bad it was.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Some of the stranger moments in RP can be quite...out there. Especially in the joke R Ps.
    • FoxMask finding a "FoxMask"-themed yukkuri in his hideout that insults him for a bit, to which he insults it back, to which it then waddles away. It's never brought up again.
    • The RP with the Erenzilla (a parody of Eren Yeager and Shin Goji) was wacky and weird as hell, but it was also very funny.
    • During one RP involving Zanon in 2016, one RP focused on some robots watching TV and watching some low quality Garfield parody. After the segment ends, it's never brought up again and everyone acts like nothing happened.
    • Hardshell being able to perfectly mimic other character's voices comes out of nowhere and was never done again.
    • Gilgamesh randomly appearing to Robo Lass and Unit 9 Prana and then walking off.
    • Supergirl, SasquatchMask's and some other characters's brief appearances and ESPECIALLY Monika stabbing Yuri in the Squid Mask and Neo Squid Mask RP (which itself was something of a Bizarro Episode RP) all come out of nowhere and then go as quickly as they come and aren't even acknowledged by the other characters. This is mostly due to them not knowing that it was meant to be a serious RP and not a joke RP, though.
  • BFG: Many, most notably the Tripple Minigun Shotgun.
  • Calling Your Attacks: This has been a staple to some human-sized characters.
    • Flamingo Mask and the Units seem really fond of calling out their attacks.
    • Obviously Anime and Tokusatsu characters do this.
  • Complete Monster: Bombshock, an Insecticon obsessed with causing mass devastation with his explosives, was so repulsive and cruel in his twisted ways of killing that even other Decepticons like Hardshell and Tarn despised him. Following the demise of his loyal second-in-command Scurrydown, Bombshock shrugged him off and claimed that he didn't need anymore anyways, as he got the bomb he wanted. Bombshock also used his own men as suicide bombers, killing them off just to kill some civilians and then slashed Gamoni's throat, to which he gloated about to Hardshell. His ultimate plan was to go to Mt. Saint Helens where he would release his deadliest weapon known as "Bombshock's Special" into the volcano, which would have activated the volcano and cause an explosion, spreading toxic gases that could've spread out and kill off everyone on Earth in a few months. During his fight with Hardshell, he then mocks and gloats some more on how far he's come and can't be stopped.
  • Crazy Awesome: TripGoji practically lives on this trope, being a zany Godzillan who can fly, shoot out giant walls of text, wields guns and can deliver a powerful rainbow-colored atomic breath.
    • "The Weed-Mobile", enough said.
  • Creepy Awesome: FoxMask, Neo SpaceGodzilla, Monster X and Omega PRGoji all fall into this.
  • Creator's Pest: Gallibon the Destroyer initially did not like the character of Gokidon very much and had tried killing him off several times (including during the original Monster Island War 3), but then Gallibon decided to make him Inconnu's first henchmen, and ever since has began to like the character more.
    • Stay felt that Wilhelm the Blob got boring after a while and for his 100th death he killed him off for good.
  • Creator Backlash: Krazar is not fond of Monster Island War 2, stating that it didn't feel memorable or as exciting as the first.
    • While Gallibon the Destroyer doesn't hate the Tachyon arc and had fun with it overall, he also feels it wasn't his best work. Ironically it's one of his more popular arcs.
  • Creepy Cute: Puppet Mask has shades of this.
  • Critical Research Failure: Mostly averted, as many do their own research first before doing anything in RP.
  • Demonic Spiders: A rare non-videogame example: the ShiKyojin literally have no reason to exist other than to be this trope. They are far bigger than Neo Super Godzilla, swarm attack cities, and spawn from their blood. That last part may be bad enough, but their strategy of en mass killing each other trades a realistic strategy for a fucking annoying one. Worse, they can only be killed without making them bleed through certain attacks, mainly vaporization or burning, but most characters do not have these powers, making the ShiKyojin an enemy to make one howl at the moon in the worst way possible.
    • This is made even worse with Shiryuu, which is basically a ShiKyojin, but even larger and draconic.
    • The Black Therapists were also this, but to a lesser extent. Not only were their overpowered and took an entire team to take down one, but their were often lots of them all at once.
  • Designated Hero: SquidMask would constantly ditch his allies all the time, savagely beat up other villains and people he didn't like simply because their bad guys, broke the rules, was a massive Jerkass and often sided with blatantly evil villains such as Nui Harime, Mechanical Raban and Obsidian. Fortunately, he got better.
  • Designated Villain: Played with Manager Baltan. He may be a Baltan (an alien species infamous for trying to attack Earth and Ultras many times) but he's actually a nice guy who comes to Earth simply to serve people fine food and drinks from his tavern.
    • In an odd sense, FoxMask can be seen as this during the 2016 period. While he was still a hero, he was constantly treated as a vile killer by Obsidian and his clique just because he was killing off irredeemable monsters and mass murderers.
    • Coyote Mask is this also, being viewed as a monster and a freak by the citizens of Brooklyn, even though he's just trying to help. Fittingly enough, the RP he debuts in is even titled "Designated Villains".
    • In a more recent example, in the Vanishing Nyo Robotics arc, Agent #271, the very first Dada to arrive on Earth, shown at first to be cold and methodic, but in truth, he's an overworked man who just wants to return to his peaceful life, but can't due to his failure in '66, he decided to stay on Earth, to start a new life, and is now part of the Robo Garrison.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:FoxMask is pretty well-liked within the community. His first few appearance was well-received enough for him to become a major character. It helps that he was one of the earliest WZRP characters and still going strong, has slain many Scrappy villains, was the first Shadowblood to ever appear and is an superb fighter and assassin. He's practically the face of WZRP at this point.
    • :WolfMask Fox Mask's brother. Originally was entirely an alternate universe kind of character, but was merged to become apart of the main universe. He's well-liked and respected among the community, and essentially become the secondary face of WZRP.
    • BirthGoji can also relate to this. He is more liked in the community and has also become a sort of major character.
    • Hothead, who started off as a minor villain who was meant to be comic villain, but soon became a villain of his own due to being so funny likable and cool, and has since become one of the oldest and recurring villains. There's never a dull moment with the guy.
    • Gildefrum is also a popular villain due to being both an effective Knight of Cerebus and a cool and interesting character, despite his limited appearances.
    • Neo SpaceGodzilla is another one, due to being a cool, creepy and awesome villain done right that doesn’t feel “edgy” as well.
    • Ryu Mask, who despite his limited appearances, is very well-liked. It helps that he's one of the few major Shadowbloods who never got worfed or humiliated at all during the early years of 2016.
      • Mainframe and Venus (two of Ryu Mask's accomplices) are also well-received.
    • Most of the NyoRobotics are pretty popular, chiefly Unit 4 Sagiri, Unit 2 Ayame, Unit 5 Brownie and Unit 8 Sonnet.
    • Neo Gigan, due to being one of the oldest WZRP chars still around since the beginning, having a great personality and an excellent fighter.
      • Along with her, most of the Neo Team are also pretty popular, such as Komi, Neo SuperMechaGodzilla and Neo MechaGodzilla. Recent members Neo Titan and Neo Megalon are getting there.
    • Iguana Goji, for being an amazing fighter and an excellent Anti-Hero with great storyline and character as well as being very sympathetic, even is he does rampage and destroy some cities in order to take down his foes.
    • Commander Booker was originally only going to be a minor, nameless character in the Alien Plant Fauna RP, but he was shown to be so badass, courageous, witty and likeable that he was then given a name and has now become a recurring character, now even having his own GDF base in Chicago and fighting off such threats as kaiju with no fear.
    • King Ghidorah XVII (also known as just "Ghido") for being a very likeable Ghidorah who is a good guy for once, being a tough and great fighter and for his destructive, yet playful and good-hearted personality. His friendship with Birth Goji also helps.
    • Gaigun for similar reasons, as he is well-liked for his friendship with King Ghidorah XVII and for both being very funny but yet still take his job seriously.
    • Rilah, while despite not appearing that much, is pretty well-liked mainly due to her well-developed and mature character and her history.
    • CM (also known as Crowned MUTO) is one nowadays. Could be because of her getting some more character development, being one of the more older and well known Original Characters as of late and for being one of the earlier attractive characters.
    • Abbey Road, for being a cool and original villain monster with a bizarre design.
    • Kamen Rider Amazon Omega.
    • The Weedmobile!
    • CerberusMask and BunnyMask, due to their relationship, their mature and well handeled characters who despite being both of them being more morally grey than the other Nocturnes, are very sympathetic and likeable.
    • Despite technically not appearing, Nega Fox Mask is considered to be a CreepyAwesome villain with a cool design and his role as an evil counterpart to Fox Mask. Many wish that he got his own arc and would appear some day. Some wish even that he got to have his own arc instead of the Neo Empire during the time he was unveiled. Not bad for a concept character.
    • Vernonn of all people became one. He at first was just there to show up and die at the hands of Adonis Goji and be loud and annoying before getting killed off, but he was very well-liked by the community due to be a an excellent parody of shit villains, so he was brought back many times.
    • Ash for being an actually cool deliciously vile lizard woman who manages to be incredibly violent but not push it too far to offensive or shocking territories unlike several past forgettable, generic Complete Monster-type villains in the past. Her homage to 80's slasher flicks and rivalry with Booker also helps.
  • Emoticons: To the point that it's a wiki that's role-played WITH Emoticons.
  • Forced Meme: Parodied with Gagan. All he does is say or do stupid things and always asks if he can become a meme now, parodying forced memes in general.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Cancergojira looks a lot like ShinGojira.
    • FoxMask also bares a slight resemblance to Reaper. Made more funny that Fox Mask predates Reaper by a few years.
    • Neo Empire? Sounds familiar...
    • Gladiator Bombshell, one of the earliest WZRP villains, was a rogue and unmanned Jaeger. Four years later, we would get the first canon rogue, unmanned Jaeger in {{Pacific Rim: Uprising}}.
    • Garbage Monster was originally essentially just a bystander monster during Gildefrum's first arc in early 2016. In mid 2017, Garbage Monster would then become his own arc villain. Talk about a promotion!
    • During Neo SquidMask's first meeting with SasquatchMask, he jokingly refers him as "YetiMask". Later on, not only would there be a YetiMask revealed to exist, but also teams up with the original SquidMask to boot. Bonus points for YetiMask being SasquatchMask's cousin.
    • As irritating as it was, "*The attack is dodged*" can remind one of Ultra Instinct.
    • Mingun Amazon becomes somewhat amusing in later years, due to their being a Kamen Rider with a minigun mounted on his arm and main weapon in Kamen Rider Amazons: The Last Judgement.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Gaira and Garbage Monster are the only known two kaiju to have survived their encounters from the monster slaying mecha Gildefrum. Gaira would later have died sacrificing himself to destroy Gidestroyer and Garbage Monster would later go insane. Though, Gaira was revived later at least (due to his regeneration) and Garbage Monster has gotten better as of late.
    • Meka Goji, Kong, and Anguirus 1967's last appearances in where they were brutally beaten by Ghidestroyer (but were stated to have survived and then headed back to Monster Islands) is this somewhat, due to one of the users retiring from R Ping.
    • Any of the positive interactions had with DrGodzilla120 are this, due to him falling out with the community. Made worse in the fact that he and ShodaiGoro used to be good friends.
  • Ho Yay: Snowman follows Fairy around a bit TOO much.
    • Practically, Garuda's Touhou Characters have moments this like.
    • FlamingoMask really likes having IkaMask around.
  • Love to Hate: Neo Space Godzilla, Emperor Tazarus, Gildefrum, Victory Demon, King Ulysses and Inconnu are these in spades. And Kamen Rider Ouja of course.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Inconnu definitely counts due to being very intelligent, suave, charismatic and being incredibly manipulative to ensure his path to victory, so he calls it.
    • Fox Mask. He defeats and outsmarts his enemies (some of who can be arguably far more powerful than him) with nothing more but skill, wit and always being prepared.
  • Memetic Badass: Commander Booker and Ryu Mask are both oh-so quotable and badass.
  • Memetic Loser: Vernonn. He tries so desperately hard to sound scary and menacing, but comes off as sounding ridiculously cheesy and corny, often sounding asinine and childish instead and doesn't even put up that much of a fight, and gets casually killed by Adonis Goji in seconds.
    • Tumbleweed Mask is shown to be this, to the point the Brotherhood of Nocturnes reduced him from Ensign to Janitor.
    • Attack! Gabara is portrayed like this. So is Gabara himself to a degree.
  • Memetic Mutation: "I would like to introduce my new character—- X" note
  • "Get out, or i'll FUCK you!"
  • "STOP FUCKING ME!"
  • "Little Godzilla is missing."
  • "PRIMAL FURY!!!"
  • "Komachi's Boobs."
  • "Minigun Amazon"
  • "*The attack is dodged*"
  • "X, you're a sex scene"
  • Bears. note
  • Moral Event Horizon: Bombshock crossed it when he used his own men as suicide bombers and targeted civilians with them.
    • Inconnu crossed this when he rigged Garbage Monster's attack on Malaysia, getting two monsters and many Viledrode soldiers killed in the process all just to get Garbage Monster banished and lose his job because he knew too much. If he didn't there, he definitely did when hethe dreaded Manto onto Earth.
    • While Ghidestroyer was always evil he crossed it when he ate Manda just to gain more power. And if he didn't cross it there, he officially crossed it when he killed Gomora out of spite in front of Birth Goji's eyes.
    • Victory Demon was always evil given he is, well, a Nazi, however he crossed it when he acquired the Golden Dust and tried selling it to Neo Axor's forces and some terrorists to spread the Golden Dust across the world.
    • Alien Spell crossed it in his first appearance when he sold watches to people, only to suck their blood and kill them off, gloating about it.
  • Nightmare Fuel: This one Role-Play that is, famously, known for being the first horror Role-Play that suceeded in striking fear onto the hearts of its users.
    • Manto is pretty much a Nightmare Fuel incarnate, being able to disguise as anything and being as depraved as ever.
    • The Mutant Godzilla Clones can be this to some, given their motifs and disturbing visual appearances.
    • Raban's transformation into a monster was pretty gruesome.
    • Alien Spell (in his human form) sold watches to people...only then for said watches to suck their blood and slowly kill them as their wearing them.
    • Obviously, RED is an example of this.
    • Neo Space Godzilla can get pretty scary when he threatens his monsters (or anybody else for that matter.)
  • Nightmare Retardant: The reason that the original CoyoteMask's mask has a mouth to have that creepy smile of his is because he carved it into his face to look like a smile. This is more stupid than scary however once you realize that Shadowblood and Nocturne masks ARE their face.
  • Name's the Same: Given on how many characters there are in the RPVerse, this is bound to happen.
    • Ichirou Mizuki is not to be confused with the singer Ichirou Mizuki.
    • Gomira is not to be confused with the other garbage monster known as Gomira.
      • And none of those two should be mistaken for Garbage Monster for that matter.
    • Amusingly, there were two characters named "Cannon Fodder" who also both debuted in the same week. The only difference was spelled as "Cannonfodder" and was a Cybertronian while the other was a Jaeger named "Cannon Fodder".
  • Narm: Depends on the way you look at it, but there are plenty of narmy moments. It's hard to list a specific example, so these are just general moments.
    • When a character makes a Badass Boast, it can come off as ridiculous if the character's actions don't reflect their previously spoken words or personality.
      • Especially if they're a canon character.
    • When a user's character tries to be as cool as possible by playing overdone clichés straight.
    • When a character screams at the top of their lungs to show that they're powering up Dragon Ball Z style, rather than looking intimidating, they end up looking silly. This used to happen a lot.
      • Except at times this can look awesome, and DO work and have been done right, depending on the character and the scenario.
    • When a kaiju whips out a gun. The thought of a kaiju packing heat is hilarious.
    • Moaigan is laughably cheap and goofy looking.
    • Minigun Amazon.
  • Narm Charm: FlamingoMask should be ridiculous and some of the stuff he says can be really cheesy, but is heavily reminiscent of old school 60's superheros (like Batman (1966) or many Showa era Henshin Heroes) that it's more of the fun kind of cheesy.
    • RyuMask blaring obscure 80's music from the Weed-Mobile is both hilarious and awesome.
  • Odd Friendship: Birth Goji and King Ghidorah XVII being best friends is rather odd. Usually, Gojirans and Ghidorahs are sworn enemies hell bent on killing each other. This ain't a bad thing at all with these two though.
  • Old Shame: The Neo Empire to this almost everyone. Whether it be the ones where who started the plot, the ones who joined it and later regretted doing so, it's a plot that is generally considered to be something many people regret, and that could be an understatement to some. Even Dr Godzilla 120 himself isn't too fond of it.
    • Krazar 77 is not fond of the original version of Monster Island War 3. To a lesser extent, he also isn't that found of Monster Island War 2.
      • Krazar 77 also isn't fond of ZSG, who he considers to be one of his worst villains.
      • Pretty most of Krazar's earlier characters he doesn't like to talk about. Mentions include the original Zardoris and Cyberdrakus.
    • Vampire Fox Mask was retconned for a reason. Shodai Goro also doesn't like any of the forms he gave to Fox Mask, so he ended up retconning them all.
    • Gallibon the Destroyer isn't really fond of FlamingoMask's early R Ps, so he retconned them and re-did the character.
      • On that same note, while Gallibon the Destroyer doesn't hate his early Viledrode R Ps, he does strongly regret having them takeover Oceania, feeling that it was lacking in any real goals (other than just to conquer), lacked any tension or characterizations, felt cheap and stale as he felt that there wasn't really much else to do with it. Oceania was later on flat-out freed and then the Viledrodes (as well as most of Gallibon the Destroyer's villains) focused instead on doing monster of the week type plots instead.
      • Gallibon the Destroyer also REALLY hates the Undead Insecticons, to the point they were removed as soon as they appeared.
      • Lastly, Gallibon the Destroyer is deeply ashamed of being very critical towards the Golden Dust plot, saying that he felt that he was WAY too hard on it and outside of the kaiju shock deaths and confusing online stuff, the plot itself was superb.
    • Fish 6 is not fond of Giz Goji.
    • Flaredragon 00 regrets making the villain Gumuuzoo as well as the HELLHOUND arc.
      • The HELLHOUND arc also is also considered to be an Old Shame for those who participated in it.
    • Lord Vehk is not proud of his earlier characters (such as Yuki Certascanti, PR Goji, Romani Tango, and Coyote Tango) and later redid them. Gladiator Bombshell is another example.
    • From Garuda’s POV, introducing GKAT is his back in the day. But he does have hope he could try re-introducing it, ala a side-story at this point.
    • Strongest Potato believes everything he came up with during his first term should be buried in the past, to the point he gave the H.O.W.L liscence to Fr0stfur, he's that done with it.
  • Put On The Bus: This usually happens with Garuda's characters. Used up one day before returning back into Limbo, waiting to be used again.
    • This happened to Sevengar for a while, until he came back recently.
    • The Kamacuras species seemed to drop off the face of the Earth and went missing for a long time, but fortunately as of the Sevigocan Island mini-arc, they have returned.
    • After Abbey Road destroyed the town of Morioh, Naito, Attuces, and Abbey itself have yet to make another appearance.
    • With the exception of several non-canon joke appearances, Mothra hasn't appeared in an RP in a long time.
      • On that same note, the Mosuran species themselves haven't appeared in a long time. Except Mothra Leo.
  • Padding: The Neo Empire went on for five months. Yet, in those five months, one month was spent trying to take over Lansing (itself was nothing but padding), two months were spent doing practically nothing (though at one point, it was due to some delays) and the final month only really something happened there because the plot was supposed to be becoming to an end.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Averted with IkaMask. Many at first thought he would be a mediocre take and would not be liked due not being the real Squid Mask (which even Gallibon was afraid of), but later found him to be pleasant. It also helps that the real Squid Mask did come back and Neo Squid Mask became his own character.
    • Averted again with Gomora. Following Godzilla's disappearance after his fight with Ghidestroyer, Gomora more or less became the new leader for Monster Island for the time being. It helps he's been there since the beginning, is very loyal to Godzilla and doesn't want to outright replace Godzilla, just continue for him.
    • In-universe example: Inconnu is heavily considered to be this for Garbage Monster after Garbage Monster was banished from the Viledrodes.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Dracoruss, a red, fire-breathing dragon, was originally a much reviled character in the RPverse. Later, ShodaiGoro worked together with his user (DrGodzilla120) and they made his character much more balanced and made him a much more likable and heroic character.
    • Zardoris used to be very overpowered and aided evil characters. He later went through a reworking, and has become much better and much more liked.
    • Yuki Certasancti used to be an OP jerk who resurrected frequently. Since his revival after his death at the hands of a Sue Hunter, his personality has gotten better, and he's become less overpowered.
      • He was even more rescued when he was revamped and retooled as "Category X".
    • BirthGoji used to be both overpowered, bland, and was revamped so often many users did not like him. With the help of Gojiran, Krazar made Birthgoji a much more likable, interesting, and less overpowered character.
    • SquidMask used to be an asshole who would go around and threaten others and took himself too seriously (as well as make some unfunny sex jokes), but upon getting revamped, he became much more nicer and quirkier, as well as being more heroic as well. It helps he started becoming more genuinely funny and got better at fighting.
    • While he wasn't seen much then, FlamingoMask initially came off as something of a nosy follower and a utter snob. After his initial first appearances though, he was then revamped and became much more likeable and the character he is today.
    • PR Goji of all chars later got this. Not only was his previous utterly reviled characterization was retconned, his species was then introduced and led to many interesting chars of there own, with Omega PR Goji being the most notable one.
  • The Scrappy: Due to the sheer amount of characters in this universe, you're bound to come across a dud from every user every now and again.
    • Trahir is widely considered by many to be the worst villain WZRP, for many, many reasons. He is insanely OP, can teleport, can heal incredibly quickly, absorb Darkness and a little Chaos, use illusions to force his foes into attacking copies of him, and is practically invincible. DrGodzilla120 purposely did this to make him a Parody Sue. His backstory also explains this, him being a former Mary-Sue Hunter, but betrayed them for power. He was disliked enough as a joke villain, but then came his role as the main villain of the infamous (and thankfully now non-canon) Neo Empire arc did not serve him any favors and only further solidified his reputation as this. It was bad enough with him constantly winning the R Ps, invading other plots, derailing them in the process, rampant godmodding, stealing other characters powers, killing millions of people, and spewing out so much asinine dialogue, that it seemed that it was pretty clear that he was meant to be a Hate Sink, but instead he's given some last minute revelation that he was actually possessed by some entity known as "The Anomaly", and was actually a good guy the whole time, which many people didn't buy. Nowadays, he's often considered a good example of "how not to make a villain in the RP Verse" and is considered to be the worst villain of RPVerse. Him worfing several well-liked heroes like FoxMask and even powerful canon villains like Yapool didn't help either.
    • Ironically enough, he was meant to be a parody of overpowered villains. Then by the Neo Empire, he ended up becoming exactly what he was trying to parody in the first place.
    • TokyoGoji was a major one for the RPverse in the early days. If her blatant jerkass personality wasn't bad enough, she was at one point the Queen of Germany (Naturally, many people interpret what her rule was like as a horrible dictatorship, which isn't far off, given her horrible behavior). During her rule, she killed a Mothra larva for spraying her with webs, easily making her skyrocket to Scrappy status. Despite this, she is still treated as a good guy by her user's characters, and when one of her own children is killed, it's treated as a horrible thing. She's also notorious for teleporting away from any danger and constantly coming back to life, to the point where a clause was put in to put a limit on how many times a character could come back. When the Moon Elder God finally put her out of her misery, nobody felt sorry for her.
    • Obsidian is heavy disliked due to being boring and a terrible "neutral" character. His reasons of being neutral basically boil down to siding and assisting with the evilest of villains, usually letting them get away with crimes as to preserve "balance", yet he constantly demonizes and battles heroes. There's also the fact he doesn't really seem to care about anyone else, beings that he was fine with working for such evil villains like Trahir and only backed down just to save his hide. It doesn't help he mostly gets aways with his crimes 95% of the time. It's little wonder he was considered to be Fox Mask's main enemy for a while. This only further escalated when he gained control of "Limbo" for a while (before it was then retconned.)
    • All of Ceoxal's villains count as this, but a particularly hated example is Nexus, a "metaphor for evil", despite being extremely bland. He's also a generic Cell rip-off, being able to absorb foes, and is extremely overpowered, being able to erase people from existence. This description can apply to basically all his villains, due to how similar they are to each other, even ones that are canon characters.
    • KoDeibus are almost universally known for being extremely annoying. They're baby shithead Reimu Yukkuri that boss people around and demand they eat "mishter pwoo pwoo". They were introduced for the sole purpose of being killed in hilarious and cruel ways, making this a deliberate example, but many agree that they're not even Love to Hate due to how forced they are, and mentioning them in public chat is calling a flame war upon yourself. It doesn't help that many were misused poorly and were made to harass many users either, making them even more hated than they already were. It also doesn't help that they were most rampant during the Neo Empire arc, meaning many were not willing to give slack to an entire species making unfunny poop jokes and pestering the crap out of everyone.
    • All of GyaosKing485's villains are this due to being bland (calling them one-dimensional is an understatement), overpowered as hell, how similarly all interchangeable they are, constantly dodging attacks all the time and blatant godmodding, that fighting them was a chore to go through. Even worse, most were incredibly rampant and had little motivation to their evilness other than "WE SHALL TAKEOVER THE WORLD" or just wanting to win RP (which mind you is no way winnable). So as you can see, there were a lot but a few stand out:
      • Bionic Gyaos due to being a very generic big evil monster who had very little personality, other than being a big evil monster who thought it was a god and causing mass destruction. It's constantly hyped up to being a very powerful villain, but it really wasn't. Not only this, but it's VERY in-name only to the REAL Bionic Gyaos. Thankfully, this incarnation of Bionic Gyaos and the rest of the plot was retconned, and Bionic Gyaos is now going under a revamp.
      • "The Boss", a villain from the Post-Apoctaylptic RP that took two hours to fight, had a bunch of unexplained powers and weapons, somehow having large amount of syndicates in a post-apoctaylptic setting, being a boring villain and for being a huge waste of time. It's not helping either that he forced Rilah and CM to fight him for more than three hours (which felt even longer in RP time) and was incredibly annoying to fight given his godmodding, but he also put a halt to the PARP due to how bad his RP was, making him a small-scale Franchise Killer for the PAR Ps.
      • The obnoxious TV Skeletons that would constantly show up and derail other peoples R Ps and constantly talk in all caps and spout obnoxious lines and say the stupidest, unfunny jokes you could ever imagine. Being extremely one-noted and forced would be bad enough, but they were supposedly impossible to be defeated as well due to being powered by milk (no seriously) and were meant to be taken SERIOUSLY. Unsurprisingly, many found them to be more irritating and unfunny very quickly.
  • Tragic Villain: One of the most prime examples and probably the Trope Codifier is Krazars portrayal of GMK Goji.
  • Self-Insert Fic: Some users are rather obvious in how their characters are similar to them.
    • Giz Mania, for a brief moment, was the President of the United States!
    • Ghidorahnumber 1 is a senator. He is very brash and resorts to violence before rational thinking. He also brought a cross between a minigun and a shotgun with three barrels into a government building and shot it. He is actively targeted by many kaiju, but always survives encounters. He is currently running for President of the United States.
    • Garuda Goji became a CNN Live Reporter. Reporting news live to the whole world, even when it's battles between two kaijus that threaten to destroy cities and leave people with no homes.
    • Averted with Gallibon. He may share the same name as his user, but has nothing in common with him and is more or less a background character.
  • Squick: SquidMask at many times could do some really gross things.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: Perhaps the most glorious example so far would be the Giant Flying Middle Finger taking down the Astro Godzilla ripoff and most likely destroying him.
    • Rilah blowing up and completely destroying The Boss's base with her mana powers and sending The Boss flying into some sharp and pointy junkyard is another example.
  • Tear Jerker: Zardoris speaking to his dead son via after speaking with the G-Man is....heart-breaking.
    • Most of bad stuff that happens to Kunin and Rozan is just awful, you really feel for them.
    • Desu's (and by the same extent, Kurona's) backstory is very sad.
    • Rilah's turmoil as of late is very saddening to see.
    • Throughout his Arc, Birthgoji gets several of these moments. But the most prominent one was when he and his father Finally reunite after almost being 23 years apart from one another. The two cry and hold each other in their arms and is said to be one of the most touching scenes in WZRP history. This scene also serves as a heartwarming moment
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Too many to count. Many a somewhat new and fresh plot is abruptly ended on a regular basis for less promising and generic plots.
  • Ugly Cute: There are many to list, really.
  • Uncanny Valley: Fox Mask without his hood can look off to some, given his mask is his real face.
    • Gamoni and Garbage Monster fall into this territory.
    • The Mutant Godzilla Clones DEFINITELY fit the bill. Not only due their body cell motifs very strange, but their appearances and behaviors (and even their roars) are very un-Gojiran like.
    • Moaigan's face is basically an Easter Island head face, has a crocodilian body, wields a machine gun and wears pink baggy pants. Definitely one of the strangest monsters out there.
    • A good deal of the Kaiju Big Battel monsters can be this to some who aren't familiar with the series.
    • Most of Gallibon the Destroyer's monsters can fall into this.
  • Villain Decay: Many a villain have fallen into this trope due to the rapidly increasing strength of other villains. A villain who could be the strongest character in the universe could quickly be brushed aside for a much more capable threat.
  • Virtual Soundtrack: There are some users who like to use music during role-plays. Either for peaceful times or for serious battles.
  • "Weird Al" Effect: More people are familiar with the parody villain Vernonn than the two Gyaos King villains he's actually spoofing (Vennos, that one villain who tried to takeover NYC and Detroit and the TV Skeletons). It's gotten to the point many completely forgot both villains's names.
  • What an Idiot!
    • The robots working for Golden Keizer Ghidorah never realized that using Yuki's DNA to enhance his strength would probably kill him, and it does.
    • Some alien thugs once tried to takeover Detroit just by walking in there and declaring the city as there's. FoxMask (who showed up to stop the alien thug leader from possessing Giant Slalom) and Giant Slalom show up to chase them out. What do the alien thugs (who are facing up against a giant mecha and a very powerful hero) do about this? Insult FoxMask some more by calling him ome "edgy, emo punk who hangs around at Hot Topic". FoxMask and Giant Slalom proceed to kick their asses (and later so does Gildefrum) and chase them out of there.
  • What Do You Mean, It Wasn't Made on Drugs??: The RP's setting is in a modified (yet never clearly explained) version of the Godzilla universe, featuring various anime, tokusatsu and video game franchises that all somehow coexist and interact with one another. The trope explains itself.
    • A lot of the assassin monsters the Mecha Galgen Gang send out are pretty strange. Perhaps the strangest ones are Smogton (a cigarette-based kaijin who wears a Western-themed suit), Fudora (some poison zombie monster) and Zeni Crazy (a golden money based monster with a coin for a head.)
    • Trip Goji, enough said.
    • A good majority of Gallibon the Destroyer's monsters are this.

How well does it match the trope?
