YMMV / Vendetta (1991)

  • Breather Level: Stage 4 is a VERY short stage that allows you to pick up a shotgun almost immediately, and has just enough enemy encounters to where you can easily clear out everything between you and the boss with the six shots you're given. Kruel Kurt is of appropriate difficulty for the point of the game he's at, but taking even the slightest modicum of care means he'll be the only part of the stage that poses any threat.
  • Goddamned Bats: The dogs. While they don't appear much and never more than one at a time, they're incredibly annoying to deal with; they can soak a lot of damage, move extremely fast and have the habit of biting your leg, leaving you immobilized and allowing other enemies to beat you with impunity.
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: To the first Crime Fighters. While Crime Fighters itself isn't a terrible game, the questionable hit detection, cheap enemies, easily-lost weapons, and overpowered bosses lead to a highly unfair difficulty level that can really be a major turnoff for fans of the Beat 'em Up genre. Vendetta helps fixes and improves on these problems in order to make a much better and universally enjoyable game than its predecessor.
