YMMV / Twister...Ride it Out

• Broken Base: This was one attraction that Universal enthusiasts could never really mutually agree on. Was it a good attraction that merely overstayed its welcome? Was it worthy of being ranked among the "classic attractions"? Was it a Replacement Scrappy to Ghostbusters Spooktacular? Was it just So Okay, It's Average? Was it outright So Bad, It's Good? All of these are views you'll hear from people.
• Memetic Mutation: Bill Paxton in the pre-shows for this attraction became the source of many jokes amongst Universal fans, due to his ultra-dramatic narration of the attraction mixed with his completely monotone performance and hip-popped pose.
• Narm/Narm Charm: As said above, Bill Paxton in this attraction was simply just hilarious. You could tell that he was desperately waiting for his paycheck the whole time.
• Network Decay: The placement of the attraction (in the New York area, where Ghostbusters Spooktacular sat) was awkward in many levels to many Universal enthusiasts. Tornadoes in New York are almost completely unheard of, and the only New York-related themeing for the attraction was the Firehouse in the queue line (which was eventually removed when Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit was under construction, though the facade remained). Even worse, Universal didn't do anything to try to make the attraction look more New York-like. Safe to say that Twister's replacement, Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, doesn't have this problem.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • Due to the way the show was lit, it was pretty easy to see the wires holding the flying cow in the air.
  • Some would argue that the tornado itself fell victim to this, looking like something from the nearby Orlando Science Center rather than anything like an actual tornado. It was also notoriously finicky and difficult to create consistently; eventually, the flying cow prop was removed from the scene (though the sound of a mooing cow can still be heard) as that was determined to be the major culprit.
• Watch It for the Meme: The treatment this attraction got from people in its later years.
