• Harsher in Hindsight: A few moments during the special feel a bit sadder in retrospect given the reveal in Toy Story 4 that by the movie's timeframe Bonnie scarcely plays with Woody anymore, such as the toys worrying about Bonnie's reaction when she realizes that Woody is missing, and at the very end when Bonnie has no spoken reaction when she finds Woody and then enthusiastically exclaims Jessie's name when she finds her in Mr. Jones's basket (seeming to suggest that even by this point Woody is already starting to fall out of Bonnie's favor).
• One-Scene Wonder: The Easter Egg that Al from the second film purchased Woody from Ron is just that, an Easter Egg, but man is is still one of the funniest background gags of the special!
