• Karmic Overkill: In a way, Out of Odor could be seen as the creators responding to the inherent problems with the Pepé Le Pew formula by turning it around on the chaser. The problem is it's NOT Pepe who is on the receiving end of it. It's Fifi, who has already managed to dodge most of the pitfalls of her mentor due to being given far more to do than just the shorts in question, and being used much more restraintly in the shorts in question. Factor in that it's Elmyra, one of the most widely hated characters on the show, dishing it out, it ends up just feeling like a needlessly cruel Take That, Audience! to people who like Fifi.
• Never Live It Down: Elmyra wasn't a very popular character to begin with, but once "Out of Odor" ended with her scoring a victory over Fifi La Fume (a fan-favorite character), it was all downhill from there.
