- Angst? What Angst?: Lion-O's reaction to waking up to find himself over 10 years older is essentially, "Cool! I'm all grown up! I can do anything I want!" The very reason he would have to angst is also the reason why it us justified — he is (mentally) too young to grasp what has happened to him or the implications of it. Not yet...
- Fanon: In over thirty years, no canonical material has ever bothered to give a single hint of an explanation why Lion-O was the only Thundercat to age (at least to such a significant degree) in his capsule. A malfunction is pure fan speculation, but it makes so much sense and is never contradicted by anything in the series that it's accepted as true, especially since the only alternative is "for no reason." It's not regarded simply as a popular theory but as fact. Also, Jaga points out that "some aging does take place" even in a working capsule.
