  • Come for the Game, Stay for the Mods: Much of the game's enduring popularity even decades after its discontinuation has to do with the large modding community creating hundreds of custom actors and props, often from popular culture.
  • Memetic Mutation: After YouTube inexplicably started to pick up videos made using the software for its recommendation algorithm, people have made numerous jokes—wittingly or not—about the software, and the videos produced with it.
    • It also owes a lot of memes thanks to its usage in creating Rat Movie: Mystery of the Mayan Treasure.

  • The Scrappy: McZee is unanimously hated by certain parts of the community, largely due to his Annoying Video Game Helper status and his voice actor putting on an annoying goofy tone. 3dmm.com features a mod that allowed him to be used as an actor for your movies. Considering how people have voiced their interests in creating films in which McZee is killed off in hilarious ways, this is a blessing.
  • Spiritual Successor: Garry's Mod, in a way.
    • In 2004, Nickelodeon released a similar program called "Toon Twister 3D".
  • Unintentional Uncanny Valley: Many of the default actors utilize real photographs for their faces; combined with the blocky models, some of them look downright nightmarish.
