- Awesome Moments: Thrawn and Faro, with only the Chimera and its TIE Fighters, manage to flawlessly defeat Savit and his four Star Destroyers without a single casualty on either side. Bonus points for Thrawn remaining his usual calm and collected self while on the bridge of Savit's flagship, the Firedrake, throughout the entire battle.
- Fan-Preferred Couple: Eli Vanto is given an Implied Love Interest in the form of Vah'nya, but not many fans actually ship him with her. Instead, most fans ship Eli with Thrawn, due to their Villainous Friendship and the Ho Yay between them.
- Funny Moments: Palpatine gets a few. First, he's deeply annoyed that Thrawn knows the name of the Death Star as he notes the Empire has taken serious pains to keep the project secret. Second, he ponders the possibility that the Empire and the Chiss Ascendancy can work together to face off with the Grysks one day... albeit only in an "alliance" where the Ascendancy is a subsidiary of the Empire and more importantly under Palpatine's boot.
- Paranoia Fuel: The absolute control the Grysks wield over their client species means that one can never be certain about the loyalties of the people you're dealing with. As Faro muses... "With an enemy like that pulling the strings, one could never be certain if an ally was still an ally, or a subservient species still subservient. The Grysks could wear a thousand faces, and could wield a thousand weapons."
