- Values Dissonance: This was written in the Elizabethan era, it's to be expected:
- The fact that Elizabeth Sawyer is still demonized so much but Frank is posthumously forgiven. However, this is intentional - Sawyer is portrayed as sympathetic, and the fact that she's treated so badly leads her to get revenge on the town, which deserved it, is a point of the work.
- The play in general is rather sexist, but again, this is to be expected from something written in the Elizabethan Era.
- Polyamorous people might find the "Bigamy" part rather... offensive.
- Values Resonance: Despite that, however, the play depicts someone who is ostracized snapping and deciding to give the townsfolk what they wanted. It's amazing how relevant it can be.
