• Hilarious in Hindsight: The play is seldom performed today because of the immense and over the top badassery of the characters. Do have in mind that Ibsen actually played it straight all the way, and people loved it.
• What Do You Mean, It's Not Symbolic?: Sigurd wears a white coat, and he is recently baptized. Hjørdis, who eventually kills him, is wearing a black dress - acting as a witch and is the most outspoken pagan in the cast.
