- He Really Can Act: Seth Gilliam’s portrayal of Gabriel has run the gamut from timid and cowardly to stone-cold badass, but he’s generally been pretty reserved and calm when he’s not under duress. This episode lets Gilliam let loose, cracking jokes, slurring his speech, and telling a long, emotional monologue that shows just how broken Gabriel is.
- One-Scene Wonder: Mays is only around for an extended sequence that makes the bulk of the third act of the episode, but he makes a hell of an impression thanks to the captivating performance of Robert Patrick and his tense, menacing game he forces Aaron and Gabriel to play. This is also the first time the series has cast a well-known actor for a special guest role, making it even more noteworthy.
