- Genius Bonus: The series is jam-packed with references to mythology, some of which Thessaly is kind enough to point out in issue three when she deduces the identities of the people who hired Fetch.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Some parts of this miniseries, like Fetch's rant on why it's absurd for Death to be a woman or his unwanted advances towards Thessaly, become a bit uncomfortable after Bill Willingham's "Creating Women-Friendly Comics" panel at a convention, where he attempted to lure female comics fans to come listen to him expound upon why the comics industry should remain dominated by white men (and subsequently threw a public tantrum when organizers pressured him into adding two women to the panel.)
