- Creator's Pet: Gun clearly had high hopes of Johnny being the Breakout Character of the game since he's the only family member who really has anything to do with what little "plot" the game actually has and even got his own game mode in Rush Week. Even gameplay wise they seemed to favour him over the others since for some unexplained reason he's able to barge a door down immediately while none of the other family members can (not even Hands, who is much bigger than Johnny), his infamous attack animation which allows him to keep swinging while chasing victims without slowing down like the others and his insane skill tree which allows him to get a whopping 35 skill points meaning it's possible to max out both his savagery and endurance. Not to mention they even made him a Karma Houdini since in Rush Week he always escapes justice even if the victims call the police and the whole sorority house is surrounded.
- Draco in Leather Pants: Johnny. A fair number of fans find him to be very attractive despite the horrible things he has done, and some have even downplayed his behavior and actions. One example being what happened to Maria, where dialogue where Johnny claims that he never meant to hurt her is taken at face value by some, and a few players believe that he actually had feelings for her. This is entirely contradicted by the prequel Petals, which shows that Johnny deliberately lured Maria onto the family property and stalked and hunted her down before she was murdered.
- High-Tier Scrappy:
- Out of all the victims, Danny tends to be the one who gets the most flak, mainly due to his Tinker ability which often makes it borderline impossible for the family to win. During a match, Danny would get the opportunity to interact with objects like light switches and toolboxes, and once he had a bar fill up, he would be able to "sabotage" a piece of the families' equipment. This would be especially bad for the family if Danny was fully leveled, as not only he have the ability to study objects instantly, but would he be able to open the valve or basement exit instantly and it would also stay open permanently, meaning family members were unable to close valves or basement exits and essentially providing victims with an open escape opportunity.note . Many family members as such have gone out of their way to kill Danny as fast as possible in order to prevent him from using his ability.
- Family wise, Johnny is dreaded among the victims. While he is unable to slip through small gaps like Sissy and Hitchhiker, he has a tracking ability that will allow him to hunt down victims quickly. Even worse is his attacking, where he can deliver quick and powerful strikes to whittle down victims health extremely fast, meaning that unless he runs out of stamina or one can slip into a well or a crack in the wall, he can easily kill a victim without much effort.
- Narm: Virginia's death scream if she's the one being killed by Leatherface in the pre-match cutscene. Many players have likened the garbled noise she makes to that of a turkey.
- That One Level: For anyone playing Cook, getting sent to the Gas Station map comes with a headache. Namely the map's small size. Meaning the generator noise is almost always within range, and can leave his super hearing power hobbled.
- They Really Can Act: Dataminers were able to find various voice clips showing the victims reacting finding Maria Flores's dead body. The various voice actors for the different victims was given a lot of praise. The anguish in the performances from Ana Flores (Maria's sister) and Danny Gaines (Maria's boyfriend) were especially given praise and were genuinely heartbreaking to hear.
