This provides examples of:
- Cult Classic: In the realm of Let's Play, anyway.
- Hilarious in Hindsight
- See that rabbit on the cover who's zoomed in on in the first update? That happens to be Ruby.
- When the Animal Crossing villager was announced for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, he quickly gained a memetic reputation that wouldn't be out of place in this story.
- The reveal that the "summer camp" is on an isolated island becomes this with the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which has an isolated island as the main setting.
- Narm: Seeing as how 80% of the story's images are unedited screenshots of the game, it's very funny seeing the narration describe the gruesome things that happen to Billy followed by a completely innocent screenshot of an animal crossing villager planting digging for fossils or talking to a cute animal villager.
- Nightmare Fuel: You'll never look at this game the same way again.
- The horrific deaths. "Tom died alone and unloved in a hole like an animal."
- Just about everything involving Penny. "Come on Billy, this will be fun!"
- Nook's journal. Especially how Tom Nook is shown steadily losing his mind due to the gyroids' influence.
- Penny's last balloon letter. Made even creepier after your second read through, when you know who "Penny" really is.
- One-Scene Wonder: Mr. Resetti appears in the anti-box ending to yell at Billy for attempting to commit suicide and give him a life lesson.
- Tear Jerker: "Tom died unloved and alone in a hole like an animal."
- The entire anti-box ending is either this or Nightmare Fuel. "I'm coming, Penny. I love you."
- What an Idiot!: Penny listing off the ways that she could kill Billy in front of him was a big misstep. Then again, she is a little out of it, or has Suicidal Overconfidence, since she is able to rip apart someone with her bare hands. Too bad Billy took the initiative via Unstoppable Rage.
- The Woobie
- Tom Nook probably counts, towards the last few chapters and after The Reveal.
- Billy, who's pretty much trapped, constantly fails to find an escape, and has gone through several sleepless nights.
- K.K., who is pretty much the only completely decent person on the island who is utterly horrified at what is happening but is powerless to stop it. It is implied that he travels around the island playing music for the children as a way of comforting them, it being the only thing he can do for them. Billy even promises himself that if he manages to escape, he'll come back for K.K. (it's never stated whether or not he does, but presumably he was rescued along with the other inhabitants of the island).
