  • The first OP is set to "Colors of the Heart" from Blood+.
  • The second OP has this epic cover of "Paper Moon" from Soul Eater by Romi, which manages to make the whole thing feel epic in spite of how ridiculous it is.
• Genius Bonus: In the Japanese version, Spongebob refers to Squidward as "Ikardo", which is Squidward's name in the Japanese dub of the original cartoon.
• Ho Yay: Pretty much any scene between Spongebob and Squidward which is not them fighting against each other.
• It Was His Sled: Patrick gets killed by Squidward is one of the most iconic and most talked about scenes from the opening due to how shocking it was.
• Memetic Badass: The series itself is essentially this. If you go in the comments it's common to find people talking about it as if it's some great work of art, or discussing the power levels of Spongebob, Squidward, Sandy etc in comparison to characters like Goku.
• Memetic Mutation:
  • More or less every opening and ending is this.
  • If you check any of the video's comment sections, chances are you'll stumble into many, many of them noting Narmak's tendency of cutting off the character's arms in gruesome detail.
• Play-Along Meme: It's common to find comments in the opening talking about the series as if it was an actual manga and anime series, ranging from talking about non-existent scenes to story arcs.
