• Heartwarming in Hindsight:
  • Marge says she didn't want to tell Chief Wiggum about the party because he'll bring his wife Sarah, who Marge says she doesn't get along with. In "Uncut Femmes" Marge ends up paired with Sarah against her will but ends up strongly bonding with her.
  • Santa's Little Helper growling at the sight of Homer turns out to be a Red Herring: Homer is simply a lousy dog-owner on a good day. That changes with the episode "To Cur With Love," which gives him a Freudian Excuse for his coldness toward the family dog: after some Epiphany Therapy he develops a bond with Santa's Little Helper that's notably strong even among his family members, as evidenced by episodes such as "The Way of the Dog."
• Squick: Moe hocks a loogie into Homers Forget-Me-Shot and Homer proceeds to drink it even after he saw him do it.
